    It was a waste of time &money. The tour guide is a Vietnamese who has just been in Japan for a year.

    There is no good experience except frustration. We only went to two shrine - Golden Pagoda & a Shrine near the bridge. The tour guide is a Vietnamese, a student who has just been in Japan for a year. She does not have a clue about Kyoto. It was a very disappointing shore excursion. Now I am not sure if I will ever booked with Viator again. But we were not the only one that was disappointed. We talked to some passengers, just like us, they were disappointed with their experience. You should change your travel agents that you work with in Japan.

    Dear Warlita Vicente, Thank you very much for your productive feedback. Our tour is 8-Hour long and since you are traveling to Kyoto from Kobe Port, traveling time already took almost 4 hours to go to Kyoto and to come back to the port which means you have around 4 hours or more to explore Kyoto only. If you exactly follow draft itinerary we shared to you before the tour, you would be able to cover 4 places with the time given. However, according to the report, 2 hours spent on lunch time and kimono shopping time are not included in our original draft itinerary. Our assistant did remind you during the tour that if you add in these 2 activities, you might need to skip some activities on the itinerary to be able to complete the tour in 8-hour time frame. The assistant also confirmed with you that you don't want to go over time and don't want to pay for over time charges so the team assisted you to finish the tour as originally scheduled. March 4, 2024 We received your booking March 5, 2024 We sent you email through Viator asking for more information about your group to plan the route and to draft itinerary for you. …However, we have not heard back from you since then… April 6, 2024 You replied to our message via iMessage but you did not answer to our questions still. We did share recommended draft itinerary to you but we again heard nothing from you until the tour day April 7, 2024 instead of following the shared itinerary, you spent 2 hours for lunch and Kimono shopping and therefore you needed to skip some places because we need to bring you back to Kobe Port which is about 90 minutes drive from Kyoto.
    A day well spent at Kyoto

    Our tour guide Joy and driver have been very helpful and supportive, as we travel with our aged mother who has difficulty walking fast and to maneuver steps. Joy will preempt us on the terrain ahead and provide recommendations on the most convenient and yet least disruptive route. We felt very relaxed and at ease throughout the day trip despite the crowds at the various tourist destinations. We travelled at our own pace and happy that we managed to cover a few important sights within the short duration.
    A tour but no attempt at guiding or informing

    Nice people - Driver didn’t speak English but was very helpful. The guide (Mae) spoke very good English but had no or little local knowledge and was ineffective as a guide - effectively a chaperone not a guide - Mae was very disappointing
    Shinji our great driver and guide

    It was a rainy day for our Kyoto private day trip. However, Shinji our driver and guide was very helpful, polite and accommodating in attending to our requests. He bought us umbrellas and took us to places which still was magical despite the rains. We were a group of 11 including several elderly persons and one who was wheelchair bound. His suggested lunch place was a hit with our group with the automated delivered Japanese dishes on the sushi train belt. Shinji also took us to Nara (deers and Todai-ji Temple) and Osaka Castle on another private day trip. The weather was perfect then we al had a good time. Lastly, he helped to provide the transportation to Shin-Osaka station from our hotel for our big group and luggage for the Shinkansen train ride to Tokyo. We very highly recommend Shinji and will not hesitate to use him again if we visit Osaka.
