We were welcomed aboard by Davuth, our tour guide for the day. He was full of knowledge about rhe rivers, country, culture and history. He was very attentive and kept us well hydrated! We visited a elementary school class on the Island. The children were adorable!. You could tell their teacher was very devoted to them. Davuth stopped at local places in the communities to get fried bananas, palm wine and local fruits for us to try. At the Silk farm we were amazed at how labor intensive the silk making process is from start to finish. The colors are beautiful! Our local guide was great. Our experience felt very personal and fulfilling. On the return cruise we all enjoyed the fruits and beverages as well as the beautiful sights. We highly encourage visitors to book this experience.

Absorb the culture of Cambodia

The staff and guide on the boat was exceptional. We were served unlimited beer and sodas. The guide was attentive to sharing knowledge about Cambia, culture, and silk island. He provided snacks. The guide on silk island was fantastic. Learning how silk is made was an experience to remember. The boat ride was safe and the view was beautiful.

We took a boat trip to Silk Island and our guide explained the history of the island. He explained Buddhism as well as the community that exists on Silk Island. We toured a silk making farm that showed the entire process from the butterfly eggs to the worms, to the chrysalis, to the cocoon, then the birth of the next generation butterfly. From there the process of how the cocoon is turned into silk is shown. You see women. Weaving the silk with intricate patterns. Lastly, you visit the store where you can purchase products make on Silk Island as well as silk items made elsewhere.

Good good experience, the boat only had 11 of us so it was pretty empty. The walking to the silk farm was pretty dusty underfoot, limited beer and soft drinks on the boat was very good and the silk farm. It was okay when you’ve done one you’ve done them. All Tours okay met some nice people

An interesting peaceful trip from Phnom Penh to see village life and learn about the fascinating process of hand weaving silk- from worm to finished product! The friendly host on the boat was an informative guide. His English was excellent. He was also an attentive & enthusiast bar man!

Our guide Davuth for this tour was very interesting. The boat trip very relaxing and Davuth did everything to ensure a memorable trip. The school visit was lovely and the silk making ver interesting. This was our favourite tour in Phnom Penh

Excellent. River was low so we had to walk across a metal gangway with firm handrails. Probably not wheelchair friendly. Our Guide, Vuthy, was friendly, interesting, and very knowledgeable. His English was excellent. About an hour ride took us to silk Island where we had a tour of the island, learned all about silk, and had the opportunity to buy some local samples. I bought some fabric out of which I will have a shirt made. Plenty to drink with fruits on board. We bought some food on the island and ate it on the way back. Overall, just a great experience and a good value.

Disorganized an disrespectful

I boked my trip to Mekong and Silk Island and hotel pick up was included. They never showed up to pick me up. I had to take a taxi cab to the boat. I was the only person in the boat. It was a little scary. The guide was very respectful and did his best to accommodate me. Whoever is in charge of this trip is very disorganized. After the trip I went to my hotel. The person who organized this trip was calling me at my hotel at 7:00 Pm to apologize for not picking me up in the morning. He also was inviting me to drink beer with him that night in his boat. I thought this was very disrespectful and he should not be in business. I tried to contact Viator but it is impossible. They just charge and don’t want yo know nothing else. This is the last time I book with Viator.
