Taking the train from Rome to Pompeii is fairly easy. Departure station: "Roma Termini", Arrival station: "Napoli Centrale".

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.

Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

We really enjoyed our tour today with Francesca G. She was professional, knowledgeable and interesting so that she brought Pompeii alive for the group. She also set a good pace and explained many iconic places in Pompeii while having time to look at them in some detail, take photos and ask questions. Francesca negotiated any crowds very skilfully and isuggested places for us to visit after the tour if we wished. Highly recommended.

we arrived a few minutes late. They would not put us with another group till the next day, and we were not in the area We had to pay for two more additional tours, no guide. Horrible experience

Being sent from entrance to entrance and missing the tour which cost over £100.i had to buy 2 more tickets at a cost of 40 euros. Never again will I use Viator.

Tour and tour guide was great! But we had a lot of issues going to the location of the meeting point. Clicking on the link for the meeting point made us wake at the entire end of the park no where beer the entrance and the meeting point.

Missed opportunity

Unfortunately, my family and I missed our meet up time with the archeologist due to the transit in Naples cancelling without notice. We contacted Viator about running late and they graciously reached out to the tour guide stating that the tour guide could only wait for 5 minutes. Viator attempted to reschedule our tour for a different day, but unfortunately this did not suffice with our travel plans. I trust that the tour with an archeologist is well worth the investment after talking with folks who thoroughly enjoyed this experience.

Ilaria(Hilary) was our assigned arqueologist-guide, she was vibrant, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to have as our guide. A bit hectic on check in, the company was not organized. Otherwise, great.

Being able to see so many buildings that have been preserved from 79 AD was amazing. Knowing that they had running water and being able to tell so much about their lives was truly amazing to see and learn about.

We were at the site to meet with our tour guide who never showed up.- we were also on time. We also didn’t get a refund. Don’t book with this company. Awful. Tried to call them too, but no one could help or get in touch with the tour guide. Won’t ever be booking with them again.

I learnt a lot. I learnt about the Pompeiian way of life, the lifestyles of the wealthy, the slaves and the gladiators. I learnt about the volcanic eruption and why the devastating pyroclastic flow preserved Pompeii. I learnt about infrastructure, pipes, roads, columns and building materials. I learnt about the Roman empire, how they kept an open mind and adopted technologies, systems, culture, philosophy, commerce, art and religion.

She is very passionate and proud of the work done in this ancient city of Pompeii. We would recommend doing this 3 hour tour with Ilaria; do not even consider doing it on your own!

This was a magnificent site to explore. Our guide was absolutely essential for this experience and she did a wonderful job providing context and information for this breathtaking experience. Note: it requires some tough walking. Wear comfortable shoes, don’t bring little children…it is simply too much to put them through. Bring water and dress for sun and heat if it is in the warmer months.
