We feel robbed of our money - Do not book this tour

CROOKS - DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR We cannot recommend this tour. The info on how to find the meeting point is not informative enough. And when we well in advance of the start of the tour wrote to the guide on WhatsApp, the guide did not respond. We then called Viator's customer service for help, but they were not able to help us. The worst part is that the guide later said we were "no shows", which we were not. We were at the site 30 min. prior to the tour, but we were not able to find the exact meeting point. When we asked for a refund, the guide refused. So we paid for a service, we did not receive. We called Viator's customer service regarding the refund case, but they seem to side with the guide even though we showed them screenshots of the message on What'sApp and the call to customer services where you can see we were on time and tried everything we could to find the meeting point. We feel robbed of our money. Do not book this tour. They cannot be trusted.

Dear Michelle, we are really sorry to read this, also because this is not completely true! We tried to call you twice, and you never picked up the phone. Since you booked a group tour (there were other people waiting for the departure) we had to leave. All the indication on the website and on the voucher provided through Viator are really clear, infact we have a lot of reservation every day, and everybody easily found us. According to the policy, that you should have read before buying a service, a NO SHOW booking is not refundable. Best regards

Pompeii on a sunny day

We did the 2 hour guided tour and got to see the high points of Pompeii. The tour guide was informative, had a great sense of humor and open to questions. We were fortunate to have a sunny day, temperature 68*F. This checked off one of the things on my bucket list, even though we lived in Italy for 2 years but never made it this far south.

Meeting point was not clear google and apple say two different spots none are right. You would have taken my money and not carded if I didn’t show up.

Dear Adam, it's the first time that clients have problem with Google maps. Then, if a client don't show up, and we already booked everything, it's obvious that tour is not refundable. Last but not least: Pompeii is really huge, for sure you cannot visit everything in 2 hours

Good tour, too expensive

Overall the tour was good. Our guide was informative and told us many interesting facts, but I don’t think the tour was worth the high price. Considering other tours were offered for less, I don’t think this one gives more value than the less expensive tours.

Best to Google Pompeii and learn about the history before starting your tour. Our guide was Laura and she did an excellent job explaining everything during our tour. She spoke fluent English, was knowledgeable and most importantly, she was patient. After her tour you can wander the archeological site to get a greater experience if you wish. Thanks Viator and Laura.

Our guide Alessandra was very knowledgeable and patient with our group of twenty. We were given headsets to hear her throughout the tour. The pace was good for a varied group of young and old. Amazing experience and crucial to experience it with a professional guide to maximize your visit…this site is enormous! Make sure to wear sturdy shoes.

Your guide was very informative about the science, culture and archeological aspects that impacted Pompeii. The preservation was spectacular. We loved the tour itself! The only negative was that we almost missed the tour, even though we were an hour early, because the ticket said “Viator” and only referenced the tour company in small letters. The directions were to the main gate and said nothing about going to the second floor of the train station. Another tour company knew the problem and directed us. It’s happened before!

The Pompeii/ Vesuvian winery tour was by far our favorite part of our visit to Naples and the surrounding area. We followed the directions to a T and had no problem finding our guide at the designated meet up spot. Be sure to purchase your entry to the archeological park ahead of time to ensure a smooth start to the day. Not only was our Pompeii tour guide Sofia very friendly and knowledgeable, she seemed totally focused on making sure our time in the park was memorable. Even though we only had a couple of hours to tour Pompeii I feel like I saw and learned so much about the ancient city and how its citizens lived. After our tour and a quick stop at the gift shop we were brought to our very clean and comfortable transport. Not only was the AC blasting when we got in (a welcome relief from the summer heat) but our driver had us laughing to and from the two wineries we got to visit. I wish I could remember his name, he is truly such a gem. Both wineries kept us well fed and had knowledgeable sommeliers to tell us about the wines and a bit about Vesuvius itself. Overall this was an amazing experience and I would absolutely recommend it!
