The First Thing you Should do in Portland

The donuts were delicious and our guide was great! This is more of a food tour than a history tour, but our guide gave us recommendations for things to do. This is a great tour to do when you get to Portland before doing anything else! I loved the experience and I would do the tour again on my next trip.

Is it possible to give a tour more than five stars? We knew we were in for some tasty donuts — this is Portland, after all — but we didn't know how much a tour guide would enhance the entire experience! Beau did more than show us where to get great donuts. He explained the techniques and flavors that made each donut memorable, how certain types of donuts (like the sesame donut) came into existence, and how Portland's penchant for whimsy and weirdness gave birth to the whole donut thing in the first place. Beau was a great conversationalist with great insights on topics well beyond baked goods! We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with him. You might be skeptical about hiring a tour guide to get a taste of Portland's donut scene. We were too. We now consider it money well spent!

We really enjoyed Ian’s doughnut tour. Besides his obvious expertise in fried pastry, he provided a wealth of information on Portland and its life. He was a pleasure to have as a tour leader and I enjoyed every bite. I also have to note that when his boss, Bo joined, it was like being in a comedy show. They worked so well together!

The guide seemed to have quite a bit of historical information on the area and local tidbits. The donut tasting was good and offered a variety. The site does need to update their locations list.

Our tour guides, Ian and Bo were informative, wonderful, funny, enthusiastic, spirited and over all great! Initially thought this was a tour only about donuts but it was much more! It was very cool to experience and see little hidden gems around the city first hand. The different flavor of donuts were great and delightful! Wear comfy shoes! Book the tour, you will be happy you did!

Loved the tour as it was a great way to see and learn about downtown, plus peat some great donuts along the way. We saw 4 shops but they were nicely spaced out so you didn’t get all donuts at once. The selections of donuts were some unique flavors I’d not experienced before. Our guide Beau was knowledgeable about the city and establishments and made the tour fun.

All the Donuts were really good! The tour guide was very informative and was really friendly! He showed us all the cool spots to take photos. He also gave us recommendations on where to eat lunch and dinner! I would definitely take another food tour with this company!
