Highly Recommend this excursion. I missed the sign up for the excursion with NCL so I booked with Viator a week before the cruise and it was cheaper so win win. Very easy to book and kept in contact up until the excursion and afterwards. My 14 year old has claimed this excursion to be the highlight of our cruise! Very detailed message on meeting point no confusion. I was concerned about the timing because of limited time in port but they ask for your ship info at booking and knew exactly when ship would dock and the time it would leave - very reassuring and helpful.

We had so much fun this was very different and the guides were amazing. They showed us a round and made sure we were good they made a really good video of us in the tour and took lots of pictures.

Excellent communication w/ Lottie who arranged our transportation from and back to our resort. The staff were all very friendly and showed us a great time. Victor spoke very good English so communication was easy. You get very dirty and masks were available for purchase (I would highly recommend). The ride was fun and the beach we stopped at was beautiful. Excellent Pineapple drink/snack. We were able to dunk in the water there to clean off and then again at the end of the ride in a nice stream. Trust me, the rinsing off opportunities were greatly appreciated. I loved having a chance to see the area outside the resort, riding through a small section of the town on buggies! Highly recommend.

Buggy blast

This is a great excursion. Pick up was easy and right where they were supposed to be, the buggy ride is an absolute blast. Do make sure you bring clothes and shoes that you don’t mind if they get muddy, also bring cash if you want to buy the pictures that they take afterwards. That cost $50 and if you use a credit card there’s an 18% surcharge. Highly recommend this excursion, I would definitely do this again. Everyone in our group had a great time!

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! If you are skeptical about leaving port or venturing off then this review is for you! My husband was a nervous wreck but after meeting the team we were quickly relieved that we were in good hands!! Each team member was so kind, informative, and fun. The actual ride was about a hour and a half. You ride through 5-6 creeks, a couple villages, make a 15-20 minute stop to taste coffee and hot chocolate, 10 minute beach stop, and then back to their hub! We had the best time and recommend to anyone!

Loved the ride

Loved the buggy ride. It’s muddy and dusty but super fun. The only warning I have about this is they stop by a local store shack for souvenirs and it is very high pressure to buy. We are all for supporting the locals but they tried to charge us 250.00, yes not a typo, for a magnet, bead bracelet and a shirt. Then got visibly mad because we didn’t buy it. The cigar making was interesting but stay away from the shop. That has nothing to do with the actual excursion company as they were great….. but beware of the shop they stop at to taste the cocoa and watch the cigar making. They will try and rip you off. The excursion and company were amazing.

This was great tour/buggy ride. Thank you Viator for having this one. It will be one of many highlights of our cruise on the Norwegian Jade Feb 2024. The one down fall was it was early morning and somewhat cold. All in all it wa FUN. The tour guide was good and easy to understand. 😂

Hard to see

It was pretty fun and I would have rated it higher but I felt that use of goggles and maybe a bandana around your nose/mouth should have been included automatically. You will DEFINITELY need them. TONS of dirt/dust flying right in your face. We did expect to be a muddy mess at the end but didn’t want to eat it. Also hard to see driving if you didn’t have goggles for the dirt flying in your eyes.

Buggy team is great! Ride is very muddy and a lot of fun. The country side viewing is amazing. Trail at times can be bumpy. Bring a change of clothes, to store in lockers offered for $5 charge. A++

From the moment our guides, Pedro Mate, Duarte, and Coli, welcomed us with their infectious enthusiasm, we knew we were in for an unforgettable ride. They weren't just guides; they were storytellers, weaving tales of Dominican nature and culture into the fabric of our off-road odyssey. The off road dune buggies, took us on a thrilling journey through diverse landscapes. We bounced through dusty paths, tackled muddy inclines and splashed through refreshing puddles and were never dispappointed. Every twist and turn unveiled new sceneries, driving through herds of cows or the guide having to move the goats off the dirt paths, and reminding us of the island's breathtaking beauty. Our adventure wasn't just about the thrill of the ride. We delved into the heart of a small local village, Maimon, experiencing the warmth of Dominican culture firsthand. We even visited an authentic cigar-rolling shack, where we appreciated the aroma of hand-crafted cigars and had the opportunity to sample and purchase cigars of my choice. Pedro's passionate explanation of the cigar-making process, paired with a delightful sample of organic mama Juana and espresso, made for a truly immersive experience. Sure, we got dusty and dirty, as well as muddy too. But those were badges of honor, testaments to an adventure that went beyond the ordinary. The genuine smiles on our faces, plastered with mud and pure joy, were a reflection of the memories we were creating. Pedro, Duarte, and Coli deserve a standing ovation for their exceptional service. Their expertise, humor, and genuine care for our well-being made this excursion an absolute highlight of our cruise. They weren't just guides; they were our friends on this Dominican adventure. Had a great time wet and muddy but no dust. Take a change of clothes and were water shoes. You get to wash off afterwards and also quick dip in the ocean.
