Super Fun
Arianna_O, May 2023
First time and it was lots of fun. Started recommending it wherever I was asked. Honestly didn't expect so much fun from the driving to the mud it was all fun.
Good time
Ross_G, May 2022
Great buggy experience, fun lots of mud this time! Only downside they are a bit too pushy with the cigar sales
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY
Vctor_D, Apr 2022
The most memorable part was the part where they kept us for hours trying to sell us products before we even saw the buggies, then when it was time to ride out they informed us that "due to it been the weekend" we would not do the Macao Beach part of the tour, which is the key part of the tour. They then took us around in circles until 40 minutes expired. Do Not Book with these people. They will say tour starts at 1:45 PM and to be ready at 12:45, but they will not pick you up until 2:30 PM. You won't ride a buggy until 4 PM and you will go back to your hotel very pissed after 7 PM. You will have wasted an entire day that you could have enjoyed at the pool or the beach or doing whatever else you wished. I was not the only one that left that place very disappointed. I have taken the buggy tour before and it was great, but this one company, this last one. DO NOT BOOK. You will regret it.
Dissapointing buggies

Pick up from hotel was great and the truck an experience. However the buggies are not road legal mine had no brakes at all another broke down on the route with the wheel shearing off on the chassis. Only have 15minutes at the cave and beach and so much begging on the route which was sad. Overall disappointing avoid.
Overall, it was a good experience.

Pick-up was a disaster. They never told me when they are picking us up. They never gave us a location to go if they weren't planning to pick us up. I called the day of to figure all of it out. I was hung up on multiple times. Then I was told the driver was there at 7:30am for an 11:00am tour, which seems ridiculous. After that I was asked which hotel we're staying at. Shouldn't they know that if the driver was there at 7:30? Finally was able to get a reasonable pick-up time. The rest of the tour was pretty fun. I did get in trouble for trying to hit all the mud spots instead of slowly following the other buggies in a straight line. My thinking was that I paid for a tour to get muddy and so I'm going to take full advantage of it. Overall, it was a good experience.
Don't even bother.

Absolutely deplorable service.... I paid $80 and was supposed to get picked up at 1:45 p.m. from the Occidental Caribre. I was waiting since 1:30 p.m. and was never picked up and no one ever answered the phone nor the messages or emails. It was not until close to 5:00 that I got an email asking them to reschedule it because their servers were down. They also want to reschedule for the following day, I told him absolutely not. I want to complete refund. So I guess the service also included internet access as well and telephone..
Slow pace/ cave was fun

The bus pick and ride were nice. It’s was in an open Safari truck. When you get there they go over all the rules and where you are going. Unfortunately we did not go to the beach since it was crowded this day. You then can purchase bandannas to cover your face. I would advise you to bring your own bandannas or gators. There is a little shop to purchase some souvenirs, get a locker even for your stuff if you don’t want to take it with you. You then hang out for your group color to be called. Then you get in you buggy and follow the guide. What we thought was we where going on some nice trails and maybe some town streets. This is not the case. You go up a town street, then dirt road and then turn around. There was some mud on the 1st dirt road (which water is fed to keep muddy). Then back on the street and an other dirt road you go up and then down on. Then you take the town street again to the park. Now here is something that made us and our group of friends uncomfortable about. As your going up and down this street and dirt roads. There are children and mothers out begging for money. It is extremely sad and upset for once you gave money to one then you have a group swarming your buggy (our friend learned this fast), even had one begging for her necklace. We also felt that the guide stopped/went slow in areas to give the people begging a chance to be a little bit pushy. Once you get into the park you get out of the buggy and walk to the cave for the water fall. Now this is gorgeous in a lot of fun to take pics in. Could have spent more time there. After that you watch a little show about the native culture. This was enlightening and funny. Then we went to where they sell the coca coffee/tea and everything. The speaker spoke in in Spanish and English about everything which was very nice. Then you have a few mins to sample and purchase items. Which I suggest you do , especially the tea for you can’t find it in any other shop it seems. For I tried and kick myself for not getting the tea. After that you walk some more and get a free drink and can dance a little. Then back into the buggy. You go on a short trail in the park and go through to mud pits. That part was the most fun. Then back to the company base , to rinse off and get on your Safari truck to go to your hotel. Two things I think that should change for this tour. 1) maybe find out who has done buggy or Drive side-by-side and put them in a different group then the ones that don’t. For it was too slow for our group and my husband even slowed down some to put space between us and others so our group could go a little faster. 2) not do trails with all the begging for it makes people uncomfortable , especially when you can give everyone something. What we took from this is if you do side by side driving or buggy. This may not be fore you for it’s very slow pace excursion.
Horrible
Alina_C, Aug 2021
We wasn’t in buggies, because we booked the 23th at 11:00 And they sent email with time confirmation the 23th at 8:37am, We was need ready the 23th at 8:35am It’s not serious Is very rood I speak with customer in WhatsApp and I sent email everything and she/he said call Viator Horrible service
Enjoy your resort instead
LaShaunya_D, Aug 2021
Confusion on pickup. The actual dune buggie ride was unimpressive. Not a course , through village streets. Kids running beside the buggies for money and gifts.
Fun for the entire family!
Tara_M, Jul 2021
We had the best time. We didn’t drive on the beach as it was crowded but had a blast off road in the mud. (Wear a bandana to cover your face) The Cacao and coffee plantainton was fun. The natural pool in the cave was beautiful. (Wear water shoes as the surface in rough and uneven) We enjoyed sampling all the coffee and chocolate. Highly recommend the Cocao powder to make at home. There are outside showers when you get back to rinse of the mud. Cute little gift shop. Lockers for personal items before you hop on a buggie. They provide water and there is also food to purchase. (Under $5 for a burger, soda and fries)
What experience
Angela_A, Jul 2021
Never showed up to pick us up. Called no answer . Really bummed my son was looking forward to a fun filled day
We loved it
NikiT, Jul 2021
It showed us the beautiful countryside and showed us all aspects of the Dominican. Take lots of $1 bills with you to give the little children you see. I would definitely recommend this tour!
Not a dune buggy tour but a short ride to a tourist trap
Dave, Jul 2021
Very disappointed with this tour. The tour consists of a slow two mile ride on a paved road to a tourist trap. Here you wade in a “natural” cave pool (pool filter is under the stairs), watch a native dance, hear a sales pitch to buy their coffee, and get server soda while dance music is playing. After two hours of this you are taken down and back three short dirt roads. As a side note, I signed up for a dune buggy but got an ATV side-by-side instead. This was only a minor inconvenience compared to how terrible the experience. Know what you are getting. The dune buggy/atv advertised is a very minor part of the tour. I wasted half a day of my vacation on this.
I loved it…
Zakiyyah_D, Jun 2021
This excursion was so fun… Had a really good time… and yes we were muddy from head to toe… I would do it again..
Best part of my trip!
Gelso_C, Jun 2021
Absolutely wonderful experience! Me and the family had so much fun. Was the best part of my trip. Would definitely recommend to anybody.
Do. Not. Book. This.
Tabitha_S, Jun 2021
DO NOT BOOK THIS! The ride to and from was long, we spent half of the day waiting on things to happen (where they pushed you to buy things; got 30+ buggies ready to ride; waiting on people to get on the bus; waiting to look at pictures), and overall it was disorganized. The whole time people were wondering where they should be going, when we would leave various stops, etc. Macao beach stop is 10 min walk each way and 15 min on the beach. Why go to a beach for 15 minutes? There we got absolutely hounded with sales people and did not enjoy our time. The “authentic” experience with natives was soooo fake. PVC pipe was everywhere painted like bamboo. The cave was artificial and like 3 feet deep. As a whole, we would’ve had a much more enjoyable experience doing anything but this tour. I’ve done a tour like this in the DR that was much better (more time at a beach, smaller groups, less pressure to buy things the whole time). Pick another company!

Wonderful
Jenny_G, May 2021
Riding the buggies to Macao Beach was a lot of fun. I read all the reviews first so I knew what to expect and my family had a great experience. Anyone that has been to Punta Cana before should know that the locals depend on tourists for their income so I expect to be asked to buy things every where we go, that’s just a part of the experience. We were well prepared with bandanas, goggles, and water shoes of our own but would have been fine without them too. The cenote is beautiful but appears to be man made. We loved the photos, very professional! I had read a review that someone didn’t get the link to work for their photos so I made sure we downloaded them before leaving.
Poor communication
Katie_C, Apr 2021
If i could leave 0 stars i would. Our transportation never showed up, called us 20ins after pick up time and told us they were at another resort waiting for us. We explained we needed time to get there, we now had to figure out transportation to our transportation so they left without us. Viator refused to refund our money because we could not reschedule the tour.
Blah!
Omayra_T, Mar 2021
It was alright i guess you get what you pay for. In general the buggy was fun i had issues with my buggy but they manage to change it while I went into the beach so that was good. I was upset at first because I sent my son to ask for prices on sodas, water and chips and after they gave him a price they gave him a different change and up the soda price to one that didnt make sense. The guys that stayed behind were very attentive and always making sure everything was smooth.
