Mountains and lakes

A fabulous day spent with a knowledgeable guide. We were picked up on time near our accommodation and our guide gave us a clear guide of the plan of the day ahead including stops. Throughout the drive to Mount Cook Tommy (our guide) shared his knowledge of the areas we drove through, information about the wildlife and stories linked to each stop or point of note on the way. He also shared his own experience of exploring the mountains. A thoroughly enjoyable day - thank you Tommy

The view of Mt Cook from Kea Point hike was amazing. It’s an easy hike that can be completed in 1.5-2 hrs return from Hermitage Hotel. Ana the tour guide was wonderful with her driving and knowledge of local history.

Great trip to Mt Cook

It was a great day! Mt Cook was really nice and the view from the Hooker Valley Tracker was fantastic! In addition, our guide James was great in providing commentary and taking stops along the way for us to take pictures. He also handled some unexpected situation quite smoothly and managed to find a lost jacket for one of the passenger on the van!

Walk the Hooker Track toward Mt Cook! A great hike!

A lovely drive through valleys lined w vineyards, fruit trees, and cattle and sheep farms. Jimmy was an excellent guide and driver and and talked about the area as he drove. We stopped at a wonderful little restaurant that offered tasty specialty coffees and we purchased sandwiches and scones for our day. P.S. they had meat pies also! It is actually about 3 1/2 hours straight driving to the Hooker Track. The trail is nice. Very well maintained. Expect some steps and there was water pooled in some areas as they get frequent rain. Steller views of glaciers, landscapes and the mountains. You need sturdy walking shoes and layers. Fleece jackets, long sleeved shirts and rain jackets as well as lunch, snacks, and water! The trail has rocks and uneven areas. We were also so happy to have our winter stocking hats and gloves for part of the walk. There are restrooms and a warming hut w picnic tables at the beginning of the trail.

Best Tour From Queenstown

This was the best tour of all of our tours in Queenstown. Kevin did a wonderful job! Just the perfect amount of stops along the way and a great playlist for the ride back to town. Prepare for a full 12-hour day but well worth it!

Nice but short time in the national park

I liked it! But tbh it doesn’t worth, is so far and it takes 4 hours to get there and 4 hours to come back from queenstown and you just spend 2 hours in the cruise and some stops on the way. Much better if you can do it by your own!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your trip. It sounds like you experienced the Milford Sound Tour, yes, this is quite a distance from Queenstown and a full-day (12 hour) tour. We believe the benefits for our small group tour is that you can enjoy the views and listen to local stories and history of the area without having to concentrate on the challenging drive. A great option to shorten the day would be to include the fly back option, this shortens the tour to roughly a 9 hour day. We do appreciate hearing all feedback and that you liked the tour, thank you.

The guide Kev was really nice. The van was really clean and comfortable. Comparing the the half day tour we took the day before, this one is much more upgraded feeling. The long drive has very beautiful sceneries. The 3 hours walking was great only under good weather though.

Stunning views

Mount Cook is beautiful and the Hooker Valley walk is fairly flat and accessible for all walking abilities. The drive to Mount Cook is incredible too, surrounded by mountain ranges on all sides. Altitude Tours organised this day trip very well with stops along the way and time to spend walking through Hooker Valley also. Our tour guide Chelsea was excellent, really organised, friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. Thanks so much Chelsea, this was a great day and I highly recommend to anyone visiting Queenstown.
