If you're staying on-island, check out our Best of Roatan Tour (Product code: 39620P6) Roatan has two Cruise Ship Terminals -- Please check below for meeting location for your arrival dock below. Check-In EARLY...and you won't be LATE! 1) Port of Roatan Cruise Terminal (NCL, RCI, MSC, etc.): As you exit your ship, Pass the Shopping Plaza stores. Take a right at the restrooms past the shops and wrap-around building to the Independent Tours booths. Look for the Victor Bodden Tours Kiosk -- You'll see our VICTOR BODDEN TOURS signs and uniformed employees at Kiosk #1 at the port's Independent Tours area. One of our representatives will greet you at the kiosk, locate your name on our list and introduce you to your guide for the day. 2) Mahogany Bay Cruise Center (Carnival, Princess, AIDA, Costa, Holland American, P&O, etc): As you exit your ship, customers on Local Independent Tours will be required by Carnival Corporation to exit their dock area through the gates and walk over the hill to the main road. Once outside the gates and over the hill, look for our representatives holding VICTOR BODDEN signs. One of our representatives will greet you, locate your name on our list and introduce you to your guide for the day. At the end of your tour day, we ARE able to drop you off to the entrance of the dock...so you will only have to do this long walk one-way, when you first arrive. a. Once you are outside the cruise compound, look for the VICTOR BODDEN TOURS signs and shirts!! b. The Port Manager of the Mahogany Bay Cruise Center has negotiated with the on-site Taxi Association to provide transportation, if required, to the Independent Tours meeting area. Please see the Taxi Dispatcher (in the Green Mahogany Bay shirt) to arrange for your group to utilize this service -- tell them that you need the shuttle service to Victor Bodden Tours on the other side of the hill. Or, if you'd rather, you can still walk over the hill (approximately 350 yards) to the designated area.

  • NO Sightseeing/Cultural Component - 5.5 Hours, includes 1.5 Hours at Beach. Our 4 to 5-Hour Transportation including West Bay Beach Resort departs our assembly area at your port one hour after your ship's arrival at the dock. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure to check-in. Guests not arriving in-time will not be able to tour and tour fees will not be refunded.
  • At time of booking, Cruise ship passengers must provide the following information at time of booking: ship name, docking time, disembarkation time and re-boarding time. Regardless of times entered, our 4 to 5-Hour Roatan Island Transportation including West Bay Beach Resort departs our assembly area at your port one hour after your ship's arrival at the dock.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure to check-in. Guests not arriving in-time will not be able to tour and tour fees will not be refunded.
  • Visiting Victor's Monkey Business and entering the animal habitats is optional. Visiting the animal habitats and touching/holding the animals is not in any way encouraged or required to participate in this tour. While others in your tour group are visiting Victor's Monkey Business, alternative activities are available.
  • Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund
  • Our average Fun-n-Sun tour length is 4 to 5 hours. If your ship's itinerary is unusually short (or long), the timing and number of our stops may be shortened or extended. NO Sightseeing/Cultural Component - 5.5 Hours, includes 1.5 Hours at Beach
  • For our Optional Animal Interactions: any feeding or touching of the animals is conducted under the supervision of trained officials, any physical contact between the animals and the guests is initiated by the animals themselves and the animals have the freedom to disengage from that contact at their own will.
  • Our Sanctuary Animals DO NOT perform demeaning tricks or other unnatural behaviours in front of the general public, and are NOT featured as part of a live circus or stage entertainment act in a demeaning manner
  • Victor's Monkey Business is a licensed zoological park by Honduran Government, dedicated to the preservation of endangered species native to the mainland of Honduras.
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 100 travelers

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Our guide Elyn Wood was excellent. very informative and fun. The monkey and sloth park was a highlight! It was fun to get to hold the animals. cultural tour very informative and Banarama beach area was relaxing. lounge chair area was reserved for us next to the beach with free wi-fi. We had lunch at the bar and the food was good and reasonable. All and all a good choice. The bus was VERY full which is maybe the only downside.

Sloths , Beach and More…A Perfect Day in Toatan

We met our tour operator and were led to a comfortable air-conditioned minibus. After a scenic ride we arrived at the Mayan Jungle, monkey & sloth sanctuary. Most of the other people in the tour went zip lining but we immediately went to see the animals! That was fantastic! I got to interact with the cute monkeys in their enclosure…what fun! Then we saw different types of monkeys before we got to the Sloth habitat. It was a wonderful experience, being close to 12 rescued sloths including one mom with her 4 month old baby. We had a the whole sloth encounter to ourselves and our guide who told us all about these sweet, gentle animals while I spent a long time holding “Priscilla”! Amazing!!! We saw more animals and beautiful birds, including a Toucan, parrots and Macaws!!! Because our tour people were still on their adventure, our tour guide drove us immediately to the lovely beach club where we were told about the amenities and given shaded lounges close to the beach. There were drinks and snacks available for purchase. There was a large pool available which we enjoyed also. At the designated time we met up with our driver and returned directly to our cruise port! It was a great day!!!

Snorkeling the reef was nice had to wait an hour to get in bus. Online included snorkeling but we had to pay to snorkel because we had no cell service to pull up ticket to prove it. Will not book again through viatar

The animals were a great experience. Monkeys parrots and sloth hands on. The beach for 2 hours was relaxing. A stop for fotos at the letters and then back to the dock for some shopping. Guides were excellent. Highly recommend.
Poor coordination

We had to walk down the side of a very busy street to get in the van. Was very dangerous! Driver told us we could leave our belongings in the van. Then he picked up other people that stole belongings from the van. Driver had to pay to replace items.

This was a good tour. Getting to the tour operators is a little chaotic. I strongly suggest taking the shuttle. There are just a lot of people in a small area with cars rushing past. Our tour operator was nice and efficient, but didn’t share any information about the island. The monkeys and sloths were awesome. What a once in a lifetime experience! We only had two hours on the beach, because the drive there and back is very long. The beach was nice, but crowded. There were plenty of chairs. We would use Victor Bodden tours again. Overall it was a very good tour.

Sloth sanctuary was a highlight. We got to interact and hold various animals, including sloths, parrots and capuchin monkeys. However, not much of a 'cultural' tour. Driver was just that; a driver who pointed out the airport, tourist condos, and his house.
Up close with animals. Nice beach too.

We had a great time. It was a small group. We each held a sloth, had a monkey sit on our shoulder and then had 3 hours at the beach. I'd recommend this your company.

Our guide named Owen was outstanding . Can't remember his last name but he lives very close to the port where the ship docks. He was very informative, patient and nice.

We were very surprised with the care of the animals. We held monkeys, and sloths. The parrots just landed on us with the help of the handler and sunflower seeds. The monkeys were so very soft and cuddly cute the way they chewed up the sunflower seeds. Even their little feet were so soft. The sloths were very huggable. The just wrapped their arms and legs around us. All in all it a great learning experience. I highly recommend this experience; you will not be sorry.

Basically a rip off

This is a false advertising tour. It is billed as a "cultural sightseeing tour" but there was not a bit of cultural sightseeing. The mini bus was nice and new but you had walk a good quarter mile to get the bus since they can't go into the port. The driver was nice but there was no commentary the only comment he made was this is the downtown as we drove through. The entire trip was a taxi ride to a monkey and sloth sanctuary which took about ten minutes to walk through, then a trip to a beach with a tiny swim area you could not snorkel at.

So disappointed that you didn't enjoy your visit to Roatan. We try our best to have our guides provide pertinent cultural commentary, our island's history and point out places of interest. The duration of this tour is 4.5 hours, so it's definitnely difficult to "get it all in", especially when having obligations to all guests for an hour visit to the Monkey & Sloth Sanctuary and 1.5 hours at West Bay Beach. For a more history-specific tour, I would recommend a private tour in the future. You can see/do/learn what interests YOU the most, since a private tour is basically unlimited and on "your" schedule vs. that of having to do everything as a group, where group dynamics/questions/interests control the tour experience. Hoping you come back to Roatan for another visit soon, we'd love to share a private tour with you, where you can learn and experience what is most important to you...on your schedule! We had an awesome tour around Roatan Honduras with Bodden Tours! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the island and he drove around the island and explained aspects of the Honduran culture, lifestyle, nature, and food! Our two stops was an exotic animal rescue sanctuary and we really enjoyed seeing or holding monkeys, parrots, sloths, and toucans, and other cool exotic animals and West Bay Beach! The beach was beautiful but wished we could have had 3 hours instead of 2 hours at the beach!

Rustic and up close adventure

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable. The close encounters with the wildlife was amazing and everyone had an opportunity to touch the animals. The small resort we stayed at for our beach day was very rustic but had everything we needed and the good and service was great! It was definitely a great value for the price. =)

Joellen and Valerie (sp?) were very helpful, both getting to the sanctuary and the beach and helping my family leave the beach early when they needed to. A great value for the price! Please note the highlights are the sanctuary and beach along with any extras booked, this is not a city tour.

Best experience! Juan Carlos was our guide and made sure we had a wonderful time in Roatan! The sloth/monkey tour was perfect. The beach at West Bay was beautiful! My kids were so happy and want to do this again!

Our Favorite Exursion

Arnold was our tour guide and I cannot recommend him enough. He was phenomenal. An island native, he was able to share some history and help us avoid some high-traffic areas, but also made sure we saw some local sights that were picture worthy. We arrived to the Bodden Animal Sanctuary fairly early. The monkeys were playful and the sloths were beyond a dream come true. We got so many great photos and got our sloth souvenirs on site. Next we headed to the beach resort. The beach has white sands and beautiful turquoise water. It reminded us of Negril, Jamaica (our favorite vacation spot). Arnold found our group the perfect set of beach loungers with some in the shade and some in the sun to accommodate everyone's wishes. This was the best day ashore during out week-long cruise.

Loved the Animal Park and the Beach

Our group really enjoyed the tour with the monkeys, sloths, birds, etc. It was a nice facility, and we had a great tour guide within the animal park who made sure that everyone could interact with the animals and get pictures. The island tour doesn't really feel like an island tour, rather the tour guide just pointing out the places/businesses along the way, like where the Americans are building their nice houses on the island. I didn't learn anything about the history or the people of Roatan. The beach that we were taken to was beautiful. We spent a couple of hours there and enjoyed the beach and the water. The HM resort that we were taken to had restrooms & changing rooms, but it was very crowded, and the food was awful and took forever. Drinks were ok. Would be nice to go to another beach resort on the same beach. There weren't enough golf carts to take everyone back to the entrance on time, so we had to walk. It was fine for most of us, but not for anyone with mobility issues.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on your recent "Fun-n-Sun" tour. I am happy that you enjoyed the Animal Sanctuary and beach, but we really need to work on focusing on cultural/historical aspects during the tour portion. I feel we have an interesting history and some amazing culture...not sure why your guide was sharing info on where Americans live...you're from the United States and likely know where Americans live! I am happy that you enjoyed the beauty of West Bay Beach, but sorry that the resort was not as accommodating as you wished. When it's a busy day on the island, everything seems to suffer a bit...we're used to a laid-back, island pace. When things get busy, like a Jenga-puzzle, things begin to get a bit shaky! I prefer several restaurants right down the sand from where you were headquartered (next time you visit, ask for my...or your guide's...recommendations!) One of them has guacamole that I think I dream about... We shuffle our "group tour's beach" month-to-month, so I will share your feedback with this month's host and hopefully they will "up their game!" in the food taste/preparation department. We hope you give us a visit again soon... try a private tour, for a GREAT cultural/historical experience (just request that you want to focus on that...and we'll do it!) Plus, you can choose the beach resort that YOU want to visit on a private tour. But, for now, I am thankful for your feedback and will share with our tour guide staff and the beach resort. Loved the sloth. So much fun holding them. They are adorable. Also enjoyed the macaws and the money sitting on our heads. Love being in touch with nature. Our driver George was excellent. He gave us info on the island. He was very friendly and professional.
