    Worst Tour Ever
    Mary_N, May 2024
So many issues!! Worst tour we have ever taken and there have been a lot!! First we are contacted several days ago and informed that the Colosseum was not running the underground tour today and also we could not get in at 9 it had to be 10:30. For our troubles they were giving us a 25% refund (still waiting to see it). I figured not their fault, things happen. Sent two emails to the tour company asking for directions and what an acceptable ID was, they never bothered to reply. Got to the tour this morning, our tour guide Paola (I think) basically took off and left several of us in the rain. We had to struggle to catch up, we weren’t the only ones she left. Get into the Colosseum and noticed people in line for the Underground tour, so I stepped away and showed one of the colosseum workers (Leo) the email the tour sent me. He said they had never said it wasn’t running today, but that it had been sold out for over a week and so had the 9am entry slot so most likely our tour couldn’t get tickets!! I paid for this in January and missed out because the tour company waited until the last minute to purchase the tickets and then lied to us!!! Then we stood for 26 minutes doing nothing while the tour guide gave inaccurate facts (for example, Caesar introduced the giraffe to Rome, some speculate it MAY have been a gift from Cleopatra but that is all it is) and mistranslated Latin attempts. Then We had only 10 minutes to take pictures of the arena. At this point she said we were going up, I asked if there was a lift, I have severe cartilage damage in my knee due to a car accident and I can do stairs, but it can be difficult especially when wet, and worse going down stairs. She proceeded to tell me I would have to walk all the way around to get back and I should really at least try the down stairs. At that point we were done we gave her our headsets and left the tour and spent the day on our own.

The awesome tour guide, Barbara, and how she brought everything to life. She made sure we all understood the information.
Very great tour, a must do
    JENNIFER_H, Apr 2024
Our tour guide was very attentive and helpful. This is a nice tour especially in the warmer weather. Doing the underground tour kept us in shade while still allowing us to take in all the sights and see parts of the coliseum that you usually can’t see.
    Worth the time

The tour was amazing. Our guide for the Forum, Danielle, was wonderful. There was so much historical information shared that helped to put all we saw into perspective. Our guide for the Colosseum Underground was very good and the tour provides access to areas not otherwise open for viewing? Definitely, a must for a Rome visit.
    Amazing

An amazing afternoon with our guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and a fabulous historian having grown up in Rome. What an amazing historical place with layers upon layers of history.
Overall really great tour. Definitely do the Ungerground

Good tour. We did have our time changed to a later time but not by too much. Communication was good letting us know. We started in the forum and Palatine Hill, which was nice because as we left, the line was out of this world. Smart move. We then went over to the Colosseum. Easy entry. Looking back, I would always 100% recommend the underground. You get private access and only so many people can be down there at once. Be sure to go on a dry day, we were the last to make it as it started down pouring. So the rest missed out. Be sure to bring your ID (copy of passport). Looks like it depends on the person doing checks, they took both but we had our actual passport just in case as suggested. Dress well for the weather! You’re outside. Only knocked a star off for a few reasons. Tour guide was good, but at times hard to understand and sometimes a little all over the place. But still, great info. Also, I read that people’s times can be changed because the companies can’t get enough tickets. I feel they should be able to provide what they sold and not inconvenience people. However, I would still do this tour again.
A little rain but still a great experience.

Our host was very knowledgeable and the experience of the Forum and underground Colloseum was first rate.
    Underground tour was perfect!
    Heidi_S, Apr 2024
We had a great time on our tour. The tour meeting place coordinator was so kind to find us waiting for the tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered everyone's questions.
    The best guide ever
    Dorothy_B, Apr 2024
Our guide was excellent, his English was very good and he explained everything so clearly. We had and issue with Uber getting back to our hotel because I had run my phone battery down to many pictures it started raining and no taxies were available he put my phone on his internet to order Uber he stayed with us until Uber arrived. He was the best.
    Great tour!

Another reason to pay for this type of ticket instead of the normal entrance fee, no long lines! It was so cool to get access to the underground and hear about what it once was. Rita was an amazing tour guide, she was fun and had a wealth of historical knowledge. I would highly recommend her.
    Recommend this tout

Recommend this tour to get a full and proper history of the sites though would have preferred to finish in the forum/palatine hill go be able to explore more.
A tour paid for and not received
    Barbara_S, Apr 2024
We had booked onto this tour at 10.45 AM on Tuesday April 9th 2024 for 3 people. The tour operator was The Ultimate Italy. The Roman Forum part of the tour was almost non-existent. From the meting point to the entrance took 15-20 minutes in which the parts seen were all from the public roads and those inside the forum were all visble from this point. After a 20 minute wait to get through security this left approx 45 minutes for the tour inside. The tour guide invited guests to use the toilet at the entrance and due to their being only 2 toilets with long lines this took a further 30 minutes before the actual tour inside the Forum began. Asa a result this lasted only about 15-20 minutes and as we had proviously done the tour 5 years ago we know that this omitted many parts of the Forum and did not even include Palatine Hill (advertised on the tour literature as part of the visit) at all. We had taken my son for his birthday and like us he was bitterly disappointed. We have not received the tour that was advertised and I request that an appropriate refund is made.
    Excellent experience
    Chris_S, Apr 2024
Our tour guide Claudia was very informative and sociable. We greatly enjoyed learning all of the historical facts that she shared as well as getting to know her as well. It was also so nice to get to skip the lines at the colosseum since we were with a tour group. I highly recommend!
Highly recommended Colosseum & Forum tour
    Frank_G, Apr 2024
This was an incredibly fun, informative, and thorough tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum. A guided tour really allows you to get so more much out of the experience than you would be able to get on your own. Highly recommend.
    Coliseum Forum Experience!
    bfwvprgddz, Apr 2024
Excellent overview and tour of the central heart of Rome. Tour of the mechanical workings of the Colosseum underground, was beautifully demonstrated and explained. in the forum, our guide showed us how the people spent their time spent their time in public places. Bringing them to life.
    History brought to life
    Stephen_C, Apr 2024
We had the most wonderful tour with our guide Barbera. She brought history to life as she explained what we were looking at, and had even had us acting out our parts along the way. Such a great teacher, our whole family loved the experience and it made our day. Would give 6 stars if possible.
    Lives up to the hype!
    Rachel_M, Apr 2024
Not overhyped at all! My family and I had a blast and our guide was excellent. The Colosseum is even more amazing than you can imagine. It's a tough climb up to the highest terrace in the Roman Forum but the view is so worth it.
Loved this tour. It was our favourite
    Fiona_T, Apr 2024
