What To Expect

Meet your guide and head to the Colosseum, you get into the famous site quickly and efficiently. Put on an audio headset for easy listening and spend the next 90 minutes learning about the history of the amphitheater from your guide as you visit the first and second levels.

Then head over to the Roman Forum for the second part of your tour, enhanced with live commentary from your guide. After around 45 minutes exploring the forum, head up to Palatine Hill, the final stop on your tour. Wrap up your tour exploring the ruins and learning about how Rome was founded.

Our guide, Pauline, was terrific! She helped us to imagine the beauty and grandeur of Palatine Hill— so impressive as one entered the gates and walked the streets to see Caesar. “We had money, then; we could build it all— the big, the beautiful!” Now you see it in ruins. One very impressive moment was inside the castle walls where the paintings on the walls were “Projected” as they might have looked. I gasped and almost cried at the beauty there and gone! Thank you, Pauline, for helping us to see this city. She also helped us to see the Colosseum in a similar way— to picture yourself as one of the spectators— there to see the hunter scenes, the wild animals, and the gladiators, fighting for their lives to win freedom. Also, the beauty of the colosseum must have been impressive—all the marble, the greek statues and more. I felt transported back to that time. Thank you, to Pauline, our wonderful guide! Bianca is an excellent guide with lots of knowledge. We were also a small group, only 8 people which was really nice. I would give the tour a 5 except for the beginning of the tour. There were several tours all leaving at the same time and it was chaotic. It was hot with not enough space in the shade. The tour did not start on time.

An Experience Worthy of the Ancient Romans

Bianca was a phenomenal guide who weaved us through some early AM crowds to get us to every spot for amazing pictures and all of the finer details of the Colosseum. She was extremely engaging and provided so much interesting historical information throughout, which really elevated the entire experience. At the end of our tour, she provided some amazing restaurant recommendations for us as well—truly an awesome morning at an unbelievable historical site.

Coliseum, Forum 3 hour tour

The tour was 3 hours but could have been cut down to 90 minutes. Tour guide needed to highlight the important facts. There was a lot of continued repetition of information and we visited one side of Colisuem and then all the way to the other side with same view. Was not necessary considering the heat and crowds.
