Wonderful day. Spectacular scenery and the tour was very well organized. Exactly as advertised. Only minor complaint was we wished there was a little more narration on the bus portion. But overall a great trip and highly recommended!

Cool train. Long trip

The guide was great. The train is cool, but it takes a long way to get to San Andrés de los cobres train station and the stops during the way are not that interesting. Bit expensive

Great experience! Is not clear on the instructions but you can get your tickets at Salta train station before the trip.

A nice little train trip but very short

Trip is very short 20km total I believe. You only get a great view if you have a window seat and for 1/2 of the trip you get to sit on the side with the great views. Then you switch to the other side to be fair and give the other passengers a view. If you want to upgrade you ticket or change it just toss that idea in the garbage. Because nothing is allowed.

Viator has no respect to consumers

Viator sold a NONREFUNDABLE TICKET WHEN THERE WAS NO TRAIN scheduled for " TRAIN TO THE CLOUDS" here in Salta, Argentina. I went to the train station and manger was appalling: " How can they do that when there is no train running at the time of the year." I JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!

Train to the Clouds - a ‘must do’ trip for the scenery

Fast checkin despite around 200 people before boarding our respective buses. Nice breakfast stop in tiny village. Spectacular rugged scenery. Good driver making bus trip comfortable. Young, charming guide speaking good English and informative. Frequent checking of his group to make sure no-one was suffering from high altitude. Train to the Clouds was delightful with plenty of photographic opportunities. An added touch was to have an ambulance and medical team with us at all times, case of need at such high altitude. Lunch stop good with multiple choice of tiny village restaurants. Late afternoon visit to another small village and a snack to eat on the bus. A long day but brilliant organisation making it an incredible trip.

Worth the cost

Ultimately this experience was worth the cost, it's the most expensive compared to other regional tours however the bus was the highest quality, had a washroom and USB plug ins. Also there was a nurse on the bus and an ambulance that travelled with the motorcade of 6 tour buses as well as a security truck. The sights were impressive and different from other tours. The guide spoke great english and the food was basic but perfect for what it needed to be. My one item was to not book on Viator as when I arrived they didn't have a record of the reservation as compared to others. They ended up assigning me a train seat which was already taken, the good news is that I ended up with my own window seat and the seat beside me empty and lots of personal space so maybe gamble and try it for yourself?

Excellent scenery, lovely experience, however the stop at the viaduct was too short (20 minutes). Also, viator advertised this trip with breakfast and we did not get any. The tickets would not download from the voucher, however our passports were sufficient when presented at the check in at the station.

Well organised. very friendly staff. We loved it. I recommend to have enough cash to buy the local indigenas art. They do not have credit card systems.

Como não houve repasse de vcs p a empresa responsável. Tivemos q pagar em dinheiro. Como nem todos tinham dinheiro suficiente houve cisão entre o grupo. Foi uma péssima experiência.

Très sympa mais locomotive au diesel et non a la vapeur... Viaduc impressionnant de par sa hauteur et structure. Jolies Fotos en souvenir. Paysage idem que les 3h de route (salta / s Antonio) pour y venir. A faire mais coûte un bras et un oeil pour l'aller retour depuis San Antonio de Los cobrès... Tiquet de train A/R 120€

Wir haben Bus-Zug-Bus ab Salta und wieder zurück gebucht. Die Fahrt erfolgte in einem hochmodernen Reisebus, mit mehreren Pausen zwischendurch zur Einnahme von Mahlzeiten und Fotostopps. Besonders positiv fiel dabei die superfreundliche Reiseleitung während der Fahrt auf, die allerlei Informationen vermittelte und sich sehr um uns Gäste bemühte. Nach dem Umstieg in den Tren a las Nubes standen in jedem Abteil weiterhin Reiseleiter zur Verfügung. Begleitet wurde die gesamte Fahrt ausserdem von medizinischem Personal für den Fall gesundheitlicher Probleme aufgrund der Höhe. Der gesamte Ausflug war perfekt organisiert und ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Sehr empfehlenswert!
