Sarah was our guide. He was kind enough to stop by Starbucks on our way out. Our first listed stop was not as described on the site. First of all, there is no snorkeling. We were also kind of annoyed because we paid for a private tour and although it was kind of him, we did not appreciate Sarah picking up random people in the parking lot to take them along with us. “They are so lucky I’m here because you can get turned around in the trails,” was his proud statement. No offense but I felt it was kind of inappropriate and unnecessary. It took away from the private romantic walk, beauty of the area, and sounds of nature because it was a small group, who were talking very loudly the entire walk. Then when we stopped, they were standing around in the way from us checking out the first stop and taking photos . We were annoyed. Then, once we got to main location, it was kind of like.. ok, now what ? Since there was no snorkeling and he had nothing really to say to us about the stop- It was just a small beach with a small, sort-of cave that had birds. The best part was the walk back because the group was gone and the scenery was very pretty. The second location, was just not well communicated at all. Our guide walked us down to the river but didn’t get in to guide us into the cave or cliff point for jumping. In fact, he encouraged us to jump off a really dangerous cliff that had rocks on both sides. Thank God, another tour guide saw us contemplating the jump and stopped us! He was with a small group sitting in the caves having a snack break. He came running out and asked us not jump and showed us another point that was a little higher but 100% safer. If it weren’t for the guide that stepped in, it would have been another disappointing stop. Once we took the 30 foot jump, and listened to others’ tips that were there, we had a good time. I strongly recommend going to Charco Azul Canyon but with another guide. The caves and cliff diving were our favorite part of the whole trip but again, thanks to another tour guide. The lunch stop was not our vibe. After we ate, we skipped the last stop and asked to go back to our hotel.

We had a wonderful time but for some strange reason it rain the entire trip causing the river not to be safe so we didn’t get to see the waterfall. We stayed at the beach longer to compensate.The first site was some hiking but that’s what we expected, wear water shoes in the cave!!Overall our guide was nice and we had a great time and got to take a lot of pictures. We are coming back so we can visit the waterfalls

PR off the beaten path

Had a great day exploring with our guide, José. Vega Baja has a beautiful beach, the water was super clear the day of our excursion. The river and caves are a physically challenging but unique experience. José was gracious enough to take tons of pictures for us and we never felt rushed. If you are looking for something off the beaten path, this is it!

Money taken, yet no trip.

Well, I didn’t get to see anything. We booked the excursion days in advance, and we supposed to be picked up at the hotel at 9am. At 9:30 we had heard nothing so I started contacting the company. No response. Still have not had a response. Take your money elsewhere! I’m trying to get mine back.

Tour started 2 hrs late. Split up group of 6 in 2 cars instead of using a van. Did not visit any of the sites that we booked. We visited a few spots along the river and a beach, bought lunch at a roadside stand. No snacks or water provided as mentioned in tour. We enjoyed ourselves and made the best of it, but it was not the experience we paid for.

Caves, beaches, Authentic food and good times

Hands down amazing experience! If you are looking for a True authentic PR experience book this tour you’ll get tours of non-tourist beaches that have caves, pink coral reefs, beautiful clear waters! Then you’ll also get to experience cliff jumping if you want in a River or you can just swim around! Bring water shoes and if you are not comfortable with some hiking on rocks, cliffs and inclined and declined regions it may not be for you! Between locations you’ll get to stop for snacks at local off the road restaurants with amazing PR food! Everything we had was so good! I didn’t feel like I was on a tour I felt I was hanging with a long lost friend! Know they drive their personal cars and do have hotel pick up but we stayed outside of San Juan so just had a meet up spot with our rental car. I would def recommend to all my friends and family!

Not it was horrible to many rocks lot of walk-in ruff pavement very dangerous for seniors citizens I wish we new how ruff it was ahead

Fabián was a great tour guide!! He was really down to earth and made the excursions even more enjoyable. I’m not super athletic or into hiking so climbing on rocks was new to me. But definitely doable and worth it for the beautiful waterfalls and beaches we saw. My fiancé and I weren’t expecting it it just be us and Fabian but it was chill and most times it felt like we were just hanging with a friend. We really enjoyed getting to know him.

My only complaint is that it wasn't a company car, it was UberTravel, they came in their own personal car, and it was kinda small for my party, but we made it work, no snacks like the description says, so bring snacks and H20, but it was like having our own private tour and my friends had a great time too...

Lesson learned

Unfortunately, we were not able to complete our tour. The first leg of our tour was to visit the waterfalls and on that tour we put our belonging's in a safe place on the shore to prevent our items from getting wet and they were stolen. We were robbed and had to go to the police department to report the theft so we never finished this tour package

Hi Mia, we’re so sorry that you guys had this experience, our guide truly feels terrible that this occurred, definitely not the way to experience a trip, we generally recommend our clients to leave their belongings in the car or take a fanny pack that can be worn around the chest to prevent things from getting wet.
