This was the highlight of our trip to San Miguel de Allende. Our hostess was wonderful and her English was fantastic. She shared cooking methods and delicious regional recipes. Her home was unbelievably beautiful. I highly recommend this class.

Absolutely Phenomenal Cooking Class

An absolutely phenomenal experience, we made salsa, cactus salad, poblano rice and a pork dish from chef Ana’s home town in Northern Mexico. Her English was amazing and she guided us through the steps eloquently. I highly recommend taking her class, the house and kitchen is stunning and was the highlight of our trip to SMA! If you are vegetarian or have food allergies let her know ahead of time so she can prepare. 10/10 would recommend!

More than a cooking lesson - a region's culture and history expressed in food.

Receiving expert guidance from a charming and engaging chef who was able to draw from her extensive culinary background to bring the food of her region to life was a joy. She tied the food to the cultures and the history of her childhood in a manner neither of us have ever experienced. Ana is a lovely person with the ability to charm the spots off a jaguar. We both hope our paths cross with hers in the future.

We had a wonderful time with chef Ana, learning about and cooking foods from northern Mexico. She took the time to explain the different ingredients and the history of the dishes. Added bonus was discovering we had some friends in common and getting a tour of her brother’s art studio. I highly recommend cooking with Cocina del Norte!

Our chef Ana was very friendly, knowledgeable about her cooking, and fun to be with. We enjoyed learning about the Mexican culture and cuisine. We made 3 different dishes, and she guided us the whole way, while enjoying a glass of wine. Her home was beautiful and not far from town. We took a taxi and she called a taxi for us when we were finished. I highly recommend it if you ever wanted to join a cooking class. It was great for beginners or experienced cooks. The only suggestion I might make would be maybe have some quiet Mexican music playing while cooking. Thanks Ana!

The experience with Berenice was amazing! Whether you are a seasoned cook or someone who doesn’t know much, Berenice makes you feel part of the whole process. She was very warm and welcoming, it felt like meeting a distant relative for the first time; you may not have known each other before but quickly became great friends. Berenice, before the prep and cooking starts get a feel for what you like to cook or what your experience levels are. The cooking itself was very special. You get to learn why you are cooking the dishes and why it is special. Whether you've cooked your whole life or are only a novice Berenice makes you feel comfortable throughout the entire day. Berenice was also kind enough to recommend other things to do while we were in town and even called a taxi for us so we could make it to our next destination. If given the chance we would absolutely do this again!

We had a fun time cooking under the guidance of Chef Anna, and made a great salsa, a nopales and tomato salad, a main dish with meat, chilies, spices and served over a special rice. It was wonderful. Would definitely recommend this cooking experience! She is a gentle and thorough teacher.

It was so nice to finally learn how to use the different kinds of peppers and how to flavor things to make beautiful Mexican food. We've wanted to learn this for a long time. The food was so lovely, and Anna is a wonderful human!

Berenice was lively and engaging, making this one of our most fun honeymoon experiences yet! We were greeted with a warm welcome, with two adorable dogs, and the kitchen resides in a beautiful family home. Berenice shared her culture and history with us while teaching us a dish we will definitely be able to make at home! Thank you so much for your hospitality, it was so great meeting you.
