      Great visit for people who understand some Spanish

      We had a lot of fun exploring Guanajuato. Our guide was very friendly and a great driver. I wouldn’t recommend him for guests who don’t speak any Spanish because his English is limited.

      Fabricio was a wonderful guide. I had never visited Guanajuato and I think we got to all the highlights. He shares his knowledge and love of the city. We saw the Mummy Museum, the mining museum and the Diego Rivera Museum as well as historic churches and the cites of the city center. I highly recommend this tour.

      The mummy museum was fascinating. The buildings were extrodinatly beautiful. And we loved the wild ride through the tunnels. Our guide was knowledgeable and tailored parts of the tour to our interests.

      We saw so many sites on our tour of Guanajuato! Fabricio knew all of the great places and how to make it easy to get to them. Just keep in mind there is a lot of walking with stairs and hills.

      We cancelled tour when tour operator showed up with compact car for 4 senior adults after I specifically asked Viator call center person about the vehicle and was told it would be a van or SUV. Also, guide that showed up, barely spoke English, to boot.

      Our guide’s intimate knowledge of Guanajuato made for a fascinating, informative trip. We highly recommend Fabri! The architecture, history, Mummy and Diego Rivera Museums, the gold/silver mines were highlights. It is a city steeped in history!

      Fabricio is a great communicator . In addition knowledgeable, nice, good sense of humor and great explanations given during the trip. He was always attentive to our needs . He had lunch with him in a fabulous restaurant . Love the driving in Los callejones, the history oft his fabulous town. One day was not enough.

      Adrian was wonderful!! It was not his fault but our tour started an hour late. Fortunately we did not have other plans later in the day. That is the only reason for less than 5 stars.

      A Tour Worth Taking

      I absolutely loved that our guide was such pleasant company. He was very considerate with our group and since we were a private tour he was able to adjust our trip in such a way that we fit in all that was listed and somehow still had toke to manage to make it an experience unique to our family. I highly recommend not going it alone, especially in the tunnels 😂… but the history, background from a local is something I have never taken away from books.

      Hired driver more than a tour

      The experience was more having a personal driver with knowledge of the area than a tour. That being said, it was great to have a driver as the town would be hard to get around without someone to take you where you need to go. All the sites on the tour you did yourself, which makes it hard to get history and background while you are touring the mummy museum, the mine, etc. It was great having lunch and chatting with the tour guide. I might just hire a driver for the day if it is cheaper.

      Excellent tour of Guanajuato. We were staying in San Miguel de Allende for several nights and were interested in seeing other cities in the area. It’s about 2 hours between cities, so plan for a full day. Our guide Fabrizio showed up right on time at our hotel to pick us up for our private tour. As a native of Guanajuato he knew all the right spots and side roads to get us around this very tight and crowded city. We weren’t interested in going down into the silver mine or the torture museum, so he adjusted the schedule to add on areas we were interested in seeing. The Teatro was beautiful. And ask your driver to save time for your visit to the Diego Rivera home and museum. It’s very well done and is far better than the crowded Frida Kahlo house in Mexico City. Since we had additional time, we took the long route back to San Miguel de Allende and made a stop in the city Delores Hidalgo. If you are looking for pottery, there are many pottery places just outside downtown. The ride through the mountains from Guanajuato to Delores Hidalgo is worth the diversion alone. Absolutely breathtaking scenery. But caution - the winding ride along the mountain roads is not for the faint of heart. But our competent driver Fabrizio got us through without a hitch. Enjoy!
