Meet a driver at your Sedona hotel for pickup, then begin the 109 mile (175 km) trip to the Grand Canyon. The drive itself is a highlight, following a route through the scenic Oak Creek Canyon to views of the San Francisco Peaks, a volcanic mountain range that towers over the surrounding landscape.

You’ll see the otherworldly rock formations of the Painted Desert, and take a break at the Cameron Trading Post, where you can browse handicrafts and artwork made by local members of the Zuni, Hopi, and Navajo tribes.

When you arrive at Grand Canyon National Park, you’ll have views down into the Little Colorado River Gorge, and pause at a series of overlooks for views into the canyon. See the Desert View Watchtower that looms at the edge of the South Rim, get the most expansive views on the South Rim from Lipan Point, then visit Yavapai Point, where a 600-foot (183-meter) drop exposes layers of the Grand Canyon’s 1.8 billion-year-old rocks.

Finish your time at the South Rim with dinner at one of the national park lodges, then begin the return trip to Sedona, where this tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.

Our guide, Steve, was awesome! He was fun and extremely knowledgeable about the area. The best thing about Steve was he adjusted the trip to meet the feel of our group. We stopped at 5-6 different spots to get different views of the canyon. He knew the best place to see the sunset for the time of year. He encouraged each couple (there were 4 couples on our tour) to find “your spot” for watching the sunset. He helped us find a little ledge to sit out on and even took a picture of us from afar (see photo of the canyon with our silhouette on the far right). The best part of the sunset wasn’t watching the Sun (or ball as Steve called it) go down. The best part was looking where the sun was still shining on the canyon and seeing the colors change. We highly recommend this tour!

Great day trip!
Christine_R, May 2024
It was a wonderful day! Our driver Stevee B made everyone feel welcome. He was a wealth of information about the area. We had frequent stops along the way for snacks and rest rooms. The canyon was beautiful and our guide made the day so much fun. It was a long day but worth it to have a professional driver getting us safely back to Sedona.
Beautiful sunset at the Grand Canyon

Having Stevee as a guide was great. The man is a walking encyclopedia! He provided so many details and trivia along the way. It was relaxing to let him do the driving and take us to the best lookouts in the park.
Awesome experience

It was a long day traveling from Sedona to the Grand Canyon, but our guide, Brad made it interesting the whole way. We learned so much about the geology and history of the region. We visited Grand Canyon Village, the trading post and the Grand Canyon before dinner; then went back to the perfect spot to watch the sunset over the canyon. It was amazing!

Arizona-native Stanton was prompt, friendly and very informative! He shared great tidbits on the drive from Sedona to Grand Canyon and had water, sweet treats and blankets (for cooler sunset watching), which was much appreciated. A great way to visit the Grand Canyon in one day and not worry about parking, receive recommendations about spots to view and visit. The Trading Post stop was great for restroom break, treats and some shopping on the way there. Highly recommend!

Great tour, substandard dinner
Richard_S, Mar 2024
Brad was great, and very informative. The canyon itself was, of course, amazing, so we did get what we signed up for. The one disappointment was our dinner, which had to be rescheduled for after the tour, so rather late, and was also moved from the promised "national park lodge" to the restaurant at the Cameron Trading Post. I had no expectation of anything grand, and I am not a picky eater, but the meal was nearly inedible, ending with a stale cookie in a plastic wrapper. Otherwise, we were very glad we took the tour.
Wow!

Great day. Stanton gave us a very personalized tour with time to enjoy each stop. Excellent recommendations on how to get the most out of each stop.

Girls trip to beautiful Grand Canyon. Love the ease of booking through Viator. Annual trip to a different state and it was Sedona Arizona this year.
100% worth it! Beautiful sunset!
Jenn_P, Feb 2024
This was a great tour! Stanton was amazing and was super great with our young kids! We had the best time exploring the Grand Canyon south Rim and watching the sunset at the Grand Canyon. Stanton showed us all the best places and found us a sunset spot that we had all to ourselves!! (We went Feb 2024). I’m so glad we did a tour versus doing it ourselves.

Our tour guide (Steve) was great -- super knowledgeable, very friendly, great with our kids. He set our expectations and delivered. Not to mention, the views were just WOW. For going in December and with young kids (6 and 9), this was a great introductory trip to the Grand Canyon!
