The scenery was...
Jay_B, Feb 2024
The scenery was outstanding, but besides that Dawn and Branden on the Wickenburg car were amazing. Very knowledgeable very friendly. They kept us all entertained and active in the ride. Love that they have upgraded all the cars to first class style with the Champaigne Toast to the snacks and lunch, Great job Verde Canyon Railroad..
Scenic and Comfortable
Jimmie_M, Feb 2024
Excellent experience. Great service and the food was excellent. Saw deer, hawk, and bald eagle. I enjoyed the narration by our guide..
Natural Beauty
Keith_K, Feb 2024
The historical background of the area and the natural beauty. The customer service was very good. Constructive feedback is too much food (lunch & onboard snack) for small eaters like us. An amplification system for Bryan on the open air train car would improve the experience.
Not sure what this means
Henry_B, Feb 2024
Our tour tour guide in the Sedona car Feb 13 /24 was outstanding with his knowledge and details and ability to answer questions. Unfortunately he had to shout to be heard over the continuous LOUD background music and commentary. It was most difficult to appreciate his efforts because of that music. Otherwise we had a wonderful experience. That needs to change
Response from Host, Feb 2024
Henry, we appreciate you riding with us and sharing your candid feedback. We will be sure to share your comments with our team.
Worthwhile adventure
Lavonne_s, Feb 2024

Great fun. Would have been improved by coordinating music and guide commentary. Music mostly too loud.
RD_B, Feb 2024
Hearing about the regional history (when it could be heard over the music). Extremely well done evolution from setting to service to condition of the train. Good value.

Great history/scenic train ride
Michael_W, Feb 2024
Wonderful trip. The staff is VERY attentive and knowledgeable, and the Hors d'oeuvres were very tasty. We didn't even eat the lunch that was also provided (but this was also tasty...we ate that later for supper). Please note that you are on the train the entire time, and I mention this because there were some reviews that mentioned they were bored...this is all about expectations; if you think you'll be out hiking, you will not...you will be in the train the entire time. However, there's an open platform car that you can be in, and so you will get lots of fresh air. In short, if you expect to be on a (very nice) train riding through a canyon with lots of history being announced, you will not be disappointed!
Response from Host, Feb 2024
Thanks for riding with us, Michael, and sharing this excellent review.
Not good
Ann_K, Feb 2024
Got cancelled because of weather, stood in depot for two hours before they cancelled it. Not happy they did not cancel sooner.
Response from Host, Feb 2024
Ann, we're so sorry an active weather situation impacted your ride date. We wish we had known sooner the conditions affecting our canyon, but we will always err on the side of caution. We refunded all guests who were unable to reschedule. It does appear Viator refunded your reservation. We hope you were able to enjoy an alternate activity that afternoon and hope to see you in the future aboard the train.
Fun day

The best historical ride
KenFeldman, Feb 2024
Absolutely awesome. From the historical experience, to the best and most friendly staff onboard I have seen in a long long time. Our bartender on the Yuma was personable and so attentive. To our guide on the open car, he was on top of everything as a guide. Can’t say thank you for such a memorable experience 😁
Response from Host, Feb 2024
Thanks so much for riding with us and sharing this wonderful review!
No hot lunch!
D_J, Jan 2024
The train ride and service itself was very good. There are no complaints regarding the champagne toast, the appetizer provided or the service delivered. The big complaint is that the lunch that was to be provided and charged for in the overall price was limited because the kitchen is being renovated. This should have been disclosed up front in order to give the client an option to decline. It’s been out of order for some time and many guests were disappointed. Additionally, the site should clearly provide the information that this is a 4 hr excursion! Not a 2 hour trip- it’s actually 2 hours each way.
Response from Host, Feb 2024
Thank you for your compliments on the on-train experience. We are sorry about the kitchen being down for repair - it was not under renovation. We had an unforeseen need for maintenance that required us to move to a limited menu for one day. If you can let us know where you saw this was a 2-hour trip, we would appreciate it. Everywhere we can find listed on Trip Advisor and Viator says this is 3.5 or 4 hours.
Excellent balance of fun, adventure, history and luxury
Robin_O, Jan 2024
The views and the detailed history Keelie shared. Service was great as well. Our batman, Shannon, was the best.
Response from Host, Feb 2024
