Lots of food

If you’re afraid you’re not going to get enough food - fear no more. There will be plenty of different Korean dishes and explanations and simply a lovely time exploring the culinary live walking through markets with a wonderful and friendly Guide. Thank You. I went with my boyfriend and we both would no doubt recommend it!

Highly Recommended Food Tour

Sanghee was the absolute best guide. She took us to two restaurants in Namdaemun market (including the dumpling place we were all drooling over), and then 4-5 street food stands. At each place, we were serviced first and at the dumpling restaurant, which had an extremely long line, we were able to walk right in to a table. She seemed to have great relationships with all the owners. After Namdaemun, she took us to Tongin Tradtitional Market via city bus, which was a more local market and we had two additional dishes. We ended the tour at a coffee shop. Sanghee was so personable and made our group of 5 feel right at home. She helped us with our Korean and gave us tips for the rest of our trip. She truly made the experience great!

Disappointed with the overall experience

I couldn't find the tour guide, he sent me directions in Korean (I only speak, English). I told him where I was and if he would meet me (I was only a few minutes from him). He refused and told me to hurry up because the tour started soon. I ended up canceling and not taking the tour. I wasn't going to waste my day trying to find him in a very crowded street market.

Tour was not complete, not worth the value

Sanghee was very nice and spoke good English. The tour was supposed to be 3 hours with three locations. We finished in 1 hour and 50 minutes because Sanghee said she had to get to another tour. We only did two locations as the third location was suppose to be the cultural tour at the Gyeongbokgung Palace. Three of the tasting were good. A few of the tastings were a donut, a yogurt drink and a chewy ball of dough. A few tastings were unique and tasty that we probably wouldn't have tried on our own. Overall, we were very disappointed and not worth the money. We would not recommend this tour.

Great way to experience many tastes when you’re short on time

We just had a couple days in Seoul and wouldn’t have known which places to try on our own. The food tour was an excellent way to try so many kinds of traditional and street foods in just a few hours. Julian was an excellent guide and, in addition to telling us all about the food, gave great explanations of the history and monuments we passed on our walking tour. He also has great recommendations for how to optimize the limited time we had to explore after the food tour. This was a wonderful stress-free way to navigate the neighborhood, especially since we don’t speak the language. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone, but especially if you have limited time to get a (literal) taste of Seoul!

Disappointingly and Overpriced

Not what we expected or had hoped for. The trip started promisingly at a covered market with a number of local dishes. Julian did not sit with us , but stood behind us while we were eating and we felt extremely rushed. After that we had some delicious pancakes that we couldn’t enjoy because we were expected to eat them as we were led on a miles long, fast paced hike to a museum (?). We then walked another 1/2 mile and ate some teokbokki and blood sausage in an empty restaurant miles from where we had started. We later discovered that all of this food could have been found in any of the many markets in Seoul, and of better quality. Julian himself is a nice guy and very helpful, but he seriously needs to rethink the logistics and price of his tour.

Yummy family experience

Julian was wonderful. He took us to places we would never have known about, and the food was absolutely amazing! He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. It was raining hard the day we went, and several places were closed, but Julian didn’t miss a beat-he took us to other places and made sure we had a great time. An authentic taste of Korea-highly recommend!!
