A profoundly moving & educational experience
Karen_C, Apr 2024
This tour was a highlight of my trip. Tom provided insightful commentary throughout with his lived experience of the village. Lunch was delicious and the sunset beautiful. A profoundly moving experience that should not be missed!

We love meeting the villagers, Tom our guide was from one of the villages and was full of great information. Highly recommended this tour.
Absolutely worth doing even in the dry season!
Maggie_B, Apr 2024
Having Tom as our tour guide, may the whole experience so much more meaningful. His local knowledge of the area and connection to the people enable us to get a real glimpse of life challenging environment. Time out on the lake was peaceful, although the sunset on our trip was not spectacular. It was nevertheless most enjoyable, so glad we did this and would highly recommend it .
Highlight of our 3 week tour around Cambodia
GEORGINA_M, Apr 2024
This trip was a highlight of our 3 week tour around Cambodia. Tom the tour guide was so engaging and passionate about these villages. He was a total pleasure to spend the day with and educated us well on the local way of life. The tour was educational, interesting and so enjoyable. We were picked up from the hotel, driven to the village by a very careful driver I may add. We walked around the village, met the locals and went into a locals house. The tour ended with a pleasurable boat trip to a crocodile farm and floating restaurant. We chose to have dinner as the setting was beautiful watching the sun set. Tom is an asset to this company and an all round caring, lovely guy.
Great Adventure!

Kampong Phluk tour

Our guide Tom was excellent and very knowledgeable. He made sure that everybody was ok and he explained everything. Excellent trip and definitely recommended
Very well organized tour, Poun was very informative, would recommend again.
Falguni_P, Apr 2024
This was a great half day trip with Viator. Our guide was Poun. The tour itself was very well organized. What they did was instead of taking the bus to every single location to pick up at each Hotel, they just had individual tuks tuks pick up the passengers and then bring them to the bus. I believe that saved a lot of time. The bus was very clean and air conditioned and also very comfortable. After being picked up we went to the entrance of the home Village, and the bathrooms there were immaculate. Then, Poun was nice enough to give us a guided walking tour of the village since this is the drought season, you can see these foundations of the houses. We actually ended up going into one of the houses to see exactly what it looks like as well. The people of the village were very friendly. After doing this walking tour, which was about an hour or so, we ended up boarding a boat to take us to a floating restaurant. The boat was very clean and it was a private boat for us. We ended up spending a sunset time / dinner on the floating restaurant. The food at the restaurant was very good, and also the prices were reasonable. Afterwards we took the boat back to shore, and then boarded the bus to be dropped off individually to our hotels. Poun was very informative and talkative throughout the tour. We had a great time. We were given ample amounts of ice cold water throughout the journey. I would highly recommend going with this tour if you're in the area and would like to see the village.
Great trip - worth doing
Rebecca_B, Mar 2024
Really interesting trip - saw a different side if Cambodia; our guide Tom was local and really brought the stories and challenges of local people to life. Bit of a boat queue on the river - you hope this isn’t contributing to environmental pollution of which there seems a lot maybe?
Great but more time could be spent in the village
Kay_Y, Mar 2024
The tour was very mind opening (and eye opening), but I wish we could have spent more time in the village rather than on the boat. I understand that the villagers rely on income from tourists for their living but rather than arranging boat rides which don't tell much about the lives of villagers I wish we could have more chance to learn about their lives in the village and the daily difficulties they have living in a place like this.
well worth doing
aaron_m, Mar 2024
great afternoon seeing the village and good value for money. the tour guide Bong Zim was very knowledgeable
Worth seeing how villagers deal with change
Tatiana_R, Mar 2024
Our guide, Tom, was great at showing us around, explaining life in the village and adding a bit of humour. Well planned tour, thank you!
Nice tour

Great tour and great guide, really enjoyed, that’s all want to say, yes yes yes to recommend, too much request to write review
Very memorable trip
KRISHNAMRAJU_G, Mar 2024
The sunset at Tonle Sap was fantastic. Guide Sam Vone has done a good job. I personally didn't like to see the crocodiles in cages. Animal cruelty should be stopped. Village tour was nicely organized.
An authentic tour with an unsafe vibe
SergioAntonio_F, Mar 2024
I’m very sorry to leave this grading but I can’t lie by giving 5 stars. First of all - a disclaimer to people considering going to the tour it’s quite shocking to see the people living there, but it’s totally genuine. My 3 star grading is mainly because our boat almost gets broken on our way to the village, I’m not sure the tour is suitable during dry season because of the extremely low levels of water. It was clear that there’s no plan b in case the boat gets broken. We felt unsafe and neither the captain or the tour guide informed us what was going on. The floating restaurant is not the greatest besides the sunset which is very nice. The tour guide approached us asking a five star grading. By no means, this review is to get them affected but I can’t lie and mislead other tourists. On the other hand, the people from the village are really humble and gentle with us. It was interesting to see their way of life.
Great excursion
Steve, Mar 2024
Even though it’s dry season and there was no water under the stilt homes, it was still a great excursion and well worth doing. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel pick up and drop off made it very easy. Our guide was wonderful. Overall a great afternoon and evening.
Great Experience
Stuart_R, Mar 2024
A brilliant sunset tour which was great value for money. The water levels were low, as it was the dry season, but still really enjoyed this tour.
Local fishing village life
Umgapa_S, Mar 2024
Colorful stroll through the village, sampling a bit of food along the way. Informative guide knew the locals.
Nice experience
Mariana_C, Mar 2024
Pon was a knowledgeable guide, and also fun! There is not much water in the river right know so you don't see the village floating, but we could see the locals lifes when they are able to go out without a boat.
Floating village
Trish_R, Mar 2024
This trip was well worth it. We were able to see the floating villages and ride the boat to a restaurant where we could look at the sunset. The guide was very good and took care of all of us.
Great tour but poor customer service
Beatriz_A, Mar 2024
The tour itself was amazing and the tour guide was too but his supervisor ruined the whole experience and so did Viator with their lazy follow up on the matter. Such a disappointment this time as I have booked the tour before and also use Viator a lot but will have to think twice next time…
