What To Expect

Seek out your guide at Õstermalms Saluhall, the oldest food market in Stockholm, where many businesses have been passed down through multiple family generations. Admire the intricate carvings on the interior wooden walls and eaves, which have been well-preserved for centuries.

Munch on some modern Swedish meatballs, slightly changed and much healthier than their traditional counterpart, but just as tasty. Then continue your tour with a stroll through Stureplan, an area that most tourists skip. At Kungsgatan, check out K25, an urban food court packed with Stockholm's hip young residents. Try some of the local seafood and sip a glass of white wine while you do some interesting people-watching.

Take the chill off with a visit to Chokoladfabriken for their legendary hot chocolate, made with 65% cocoa and cardamom. Then pause at Hõtorgshallen to peruse the market stalls filled with Swedish delicacies and fresh produce. At the P&B Delikatesser, taste a dizzying array of homemade products like truffles, traditional Swedish licorice and cloudberry jam.

Hit up Husmans Deli for some artisan cheese, then visit Fagel & Vilt for cured meats like smoked reindeer and elk salami. Wash it down with some Norrlands Guld beer and chase it with some fresh fruit from Lisbeth Janson Frukt & Grunt.

Walk the cobblestone streets of Gamla Stan, Stockholm's Old Town, and pause at a candy store before heading to your last tasting: a traditional Swedish fika. The nation's favorite mid-afternoon or evening break consists of a kanelbullar and a strong coffee.

With a full stomach and lots of ideas about where you'll want to eat on the rest of your Swedish holiday, you'll bid farewell to your guide after this 4-hour tour.

Wonderful intro to Stockholm
Brandy_D, May 2024
Wonderful tour that allowed me to try a lot of things I would've been too nervous to order on my own. Our guide also provided a lot of background on the food, culture, and general history, and made me feel confident navigating the city afterwards. It was a large group, but he made sure to keep track of us all and that we each got fed. Three hours flew by and some of us enjoyed each other so much that we continued our time together with additional drinks and desserts!
Worthwhile

We had a great time on this tour covering places in both Östermalms Saluhall, Hötorgshallen, and a nice fika place on Gamla Stan. Every stop was fun and guide Valentina brought information and fun.
Excellent!! My favorite tour of my trip!
Rylie_N, Apr 2024
Our guide was very welcoming and kind! I loved every aspect of our tour! The food was amazing, the information was amazing!
A good tour but?
Tim_E, Apr 2024
The tour was good and the guide was interesting, I was disappointed that we did not get all the experiences listed for the tour, the guide decided to omit the chocolate shop and hot chocolate as he’d been informed it was busy, the tour participants weren’t told they’d be missing part of what they’d paid for, after making enquiries I was offered a partial refund but that hasn’t happened. What we did get and the food we tried was food and all in all a good experience, quite expensive though particularly if the guide decides to leave out parts of it without explanation.
Great food tour
Kenechukwu_U, Apr 2024
The guide was excellent and there was a wide variety of local Swedish foods and dessert. I highly recommend this food tour if you are in Stockholm. My wife and I enjoyed this immensely
Average tour, great tour guide.
Kelly_S, Apr 2024
I think this tour was ok. The tour guide Valentina was great, she was friendly and knew a lot of the history. However, i think the price for the amount of food were not as i expected.
Food Walk is a must do.
Chris_O, Apr 2024

We had a wonderful experience on the tour. The food was plentiful and varied. The walking tour was as enjoyable as the food. Great way to start our stay in Stockholm.

A great walk and food
Kaye_M, Mar 2024
This was an excellent tour with plenty of food to try and interesting walks with a very knowledgeable guide. Being able to sit down on occasions and enjoy the food and drink made it a very enjoyable tour.
Must do
Ceren_A, Mar 2024
Teresa was a great guide. She took us all over old town and gave very specific and detailed information about the food we were tasting. We had lots of fun. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to have a taste of Sweden with a great guide.
Can be a lot of fun with the right group!
Chris_H, Feb 2024
This was an enjoyable experience and I would recommend it to anyone. Our tour guide Teresa was a native of Stockholm so she provided much more information beyond just the food. She made us feel welcome and was sure to accommodate anyone with food allergies or mobility issues (however I would not recommend the tour if you have difficulty walking). The venues where we stopped served us quickly and the items overall were very tasty. It’s a great way to meet other people and we became friends with the others in our group. In fact after the tour was over, we sat together and chatted for another hour.
Fun tour
Rebeca_R, Jan 2024
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and the food was great! Loved hearing little tidbits while exploring new kinds of food.
Three cheers for Swedish meatballs
Jeanette_T, Jan 2024
The experience was well worth the money and the time. Coton was our guide and he was well versed in the sites, the history and the nutritional elements of the food we tasted.
Always go or you never know
Adam_S, Jan 2024
I ended up with essentially a private tour because it was just me who didn't cancel due to it being below -10. However, it was sunny, no wind and my tour guide Frankie was exceptional adapting the tour based on our conversations and what I was interested in, very receptive. Also the tour is adapted based on the weather so there were plenty of walks through inside places and I never felt cold.
Great Tour with lovely Tour Guide
Sarah_H, Dec 2023
Fabulous tour on a very cold and snowy day. Really lovely tour guide. So informative about the city and all the wonderful foods we tried. So much on offer - well worth doing.
A must do gastronomic Swedish experience
Ella_K, Dec 2023
This food walking tour is a must for first time visitors to Stockholm. We tried numerous Swedish delicacies including fish soup, meatballs, Fika, and the dreaded but must try Swedish Bastard licorice. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fun, and he made 4 hours go very fast. A must do
Best food tour! BOOK IT!
Jessica_C, Nov 2023
I booked this tour because I wanted to try small samples of traditional Swedish food as opposed to ordering a regular portioned meal at a restaurant. While this tour is focused on food it does include a general history of Stockholm. Our guides name was Fritz. He was very fun and knowledgeable. We met at the foodhall which I have included a photo. We went to 3 different restaurants sampling cheese, meatballs, and other meats. We went to another food place afterwards but I can't remember the name but we had a fish soup there. We then made our way over to Gamla Stan. Where we had fika the Swedish tradition of having a coffee with a pastry and talking with colleagues or friends (the picture of the table). Honestly I wasn't hungry for a big dinner after this after we sampled so much food! I highly recommend if you want to get an introduction to Swedish traditional food, experience fika and get a history of Stockholm.
Tasty
Roberta_R, Nov 2023
Theresa was a great guide. Lots of stops for tasty nibbles, but also insights into Swedish culture and history.
Enjoyable afternoon eating and sampling!
Marty_O, Nov 2023
Our first time eating brown bear and smoked reindeer! The two food halls were cool. Proper nyc vibe in the underground one. Really enjoyed the tour.
