What To Expect

Meet your local guide and set off on this walking tour of the city's oldest neighborhood. Wear sensible walking shoes suited for the cobblestone streets and bundle up; Stockholm's nights between November and March can be bitter. 

Walk down narrow alleyways and through tiny courtyards that most tourists and visitors never see. By the light of his lantern, your guide will entertain and horrify you with tales of poltergeists, plagues, public executions, and murders. Experience the past brought back to life as you smell, taste, and see what medieval Stockholm might have been like. 

Please note: This tour operates in all weather conditions, and parental discretion is advised for children under the age of 8.

  • Our tour is 80% Stockholm history, 10% smell, taste, feel the history and 10% humor and ghost/legends
  • We take up to 38 guests per guide. Keep close so you want miss what the guide says (but do not get to close, you might get bitten)

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

History combined with theatrics, what a great way to spend an evening. Worth every sent. I took the one course dinner option, the food was tasty and filling. I'm glad I took the option.

This is without a doubt one of the greatest tours I have ever been on. Chris was the absolute best. He was engaging with the crowd, quick witted, and fully entertaining all evening. He really knew how to pull the audience in close and deliver an exceptional tour. I wish they were all the brilliant!

It was a wonderful saunter around Stockholm's old quarter listening to Callum regale us with gruesome stories. There was plenty of comedy moments to make this evening a pure joy. I'd highly recommend it

Mixed feelings about the tour but food was a disappointment

Hearing more details about some of the less favorable side of Stockholm history was interesting. The host was a bit cold to questions and comments, which was disappointing. There were two groups rather blindly pointed in the direction of our restaurants. The food, elk, that I was looking forward to was very salty with gravy and small portion which I assume was due to trying to cover up the quality of the meat. The "potatoes" were tiny very dry cubes that weren't even worth trying to eat. The pie was okay. Maybe the other restaurant was better?

Kristen was a great tour guide with perfect english, great historic knowledge, super fun theatrics. This tour is a must if you want to experience the old town, narrow streets and ghost stories. You must have the legs and heart for this 1,5-2hour tour. We had the Elk menu which was an experience. I liked it, my friend not so much. But it was cooked very nicely and served hot.

Colin was so fun. He really had a way of interacting with the crowd and providing a varied and interesting yet funny/scary/weird slant to the history of Gamla Stan. Our family came away with so much knowledge about the history of this area.
A Comedic Horror Walk through Gamla Stan

The walk was fantastic! Our guide, whose name I believe is Callum, was fantastic. Both informative and hilarious, we were treated to some on the fly comedy when someone outside the Walk was doing some illegal things on the streets of Gamla Stan. He baked his comedic comments about it into the walk and made everyone laugh. I was laughing, interested, and even a little frightened at times. It’s interactive enough not to let you get bored. If you decide to try it out, I really hope you get the scottsman with the dodgy knee, as he called himself. Thank you for the awesome tour, Callum!
