What To Expect

Make your way to Stortorget, Stockholm's oldest town square, in Gamla Stan (Old Town) to meet your local guide.

Stroll the cobblestone streets and learn about Birger Jarl, the man who founded the city of Stockholm in 1250. Walk through narrow passageways and streets built for horses, not cars, on your way to check out the Storkyrkan (Coronation Church). Admire the statue of St. George and the Dragon that stands inside the brick Gothic cathedral. 

Make your way to Kungliga Slottet, or the Royal Palace, to see the stately architecture and palace guards that surround the place that Stockholm's Royal family calls home. 

Hop on a ferry for the short ride to Djurgården, a small island where the Vasa Museum stands. Take a guided tour that shows you the highlights of the ancient ship, sunk in the waters off Stockholm in 1628 during its maiden voyage. Explore the ship itself, watch a short film in the museum and then enjoy a coffee in the restaurant.

Perfect tour for first day in Stockholm

This tour was our first stop after we landed in Stockholm. Kevin gave us a great intro to the city and helped us pinpoint places we wanted to come back to eat and explore. The Vasa was absolutely incredible and I'm so happy it was included in this itinerary. Overall I would highly recommend this tour for any group of adults!

Great tour! Katrine (sorry if I misspelled your name) was an excellent guide. She’s a historian and school teacher and that was evident in how she discussed points in history and the evolution of the city and Swedish society. And she was fun! My son loved asking her questions and she was always very kind and thoughtful in her responses. The tour of old town was the highlight, but we also enjoyed the Vasa museum. Also, our tour only had about 10 people, so it was easy to get to know the other attendees and navigate the city. We saw many other tours of 20-40 people and they looked bored and miserable. Highly recommend taking this smaller tour.

A wonderful, informative tour! Vy (sp?) was knowledgeable and covered so much on our time together with helpful tips for follow up if desired, and individual attention to our questions. If you go, be ready to walk and much of that is on cobblestones. Not a problem for us but good to know.

This is a great tour! 3 solid hours of historical information about the culture, inhabitants, geography and architecture delivered by an excellent guide - Katrin - who managed the group and the tour beautifully. I would do this again. Our whole group agreed. The Vasa Museum is a gem. The whole tour was great.

Not a bad tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Tour was exactly as described, and the Vasa museum is definitely worth a visit. The museum is climate controlled (read chilly) so bring a jacket if you are prone to getting cold, even in the summer.

Very informative and great personality!! He had a lot of history on subjects which was nice! Stockholm City was nice and sunny going through the old buildings that were built around Nobel Prize bldg and a lot of informative information on the Vasa Ship.

Knowledgeable fun guide of beautiful old Stockholm

Our guide was lovely, well spoken, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and fun. She was able to really introduce us to modern day Sweden as well as the historic center of old Stockholm. On this trip, I took city tours all over the Baltic, and our guide was the best of the lot. She also set us up for finding our way to lunches and other sights for the rest of our stay in Stockholm. The introduction to the Vasa set the stage for enjoying the ship/museum.

A well worth it

This was a favorite Tours what a beautiful way to introduce yourself to the city the old town explore the Wassa and have Fika our tour guide. Katie was wonderful and new so much history, and was engaging and made the tour well worth it when I would recommend in Say is a must.
