What To Expect

Get an early start when your private guide picks you up at your hotel, then travel in comfort in a deluxe air-conditioned vehicle. Your first stop of the day is at Calmsley Hill, a working farm also home to kangaroos, emus, wombats, and koalas. Enjoy morning tea and time to wander at your leisure.

Your guide takes you off-the-beaten-track to the best spots to admire a stunning landscape of eucalyptus forests, sandstone formations, and craggy ravines. Follow well-marked trails during short walks and admire the scenery at Govetts Leap Lookout, Bridal Veil Falls, and the Three Sisters, among other scenic locations.

For lunch, stop for a 2-course meal at the Hydro Majestic Hotel, an architecturally magnificent building that overlooks Megalong Valley. You can either eat a relaxed bite at the Boiler House Cafe (drinks available for purchase), or choose to dine at the elegant Echoes Restaurant, which comes with a glass of wine, beer, or soft drink.

Throughout the day, your guide shares informative commentary about the region’s natural history and human inhabitants, from Aboriginal peoples to colonial settlers. Your private tour can be personalized to spend more time at your favorite places. At the end of the day, your guide returns you to your Sydney hotel.

Absolutely a fantastic trip. This was a private tour, with a initial stop at Featherdale Wildlife Park before the bused crowds appeared. Out guide and driver, Lindsay, was knowledgeable and entertaining throughout the trip. He made two off roads stops for spectacular views, again without large numbers of people as the tour buses could not go there. Our lunch was at a very refined restaurant set on the cliffs of the gorge. Although it was a bit pricey, my wife and I felt the Blue Mountains trip was the highlight of our 25 day Australian adventure.

Justin was a great tour guide. The Blue Mountains were beautiful and Justin made sure that we were able to see them from many vantage points. The food at Echos was perfect and the view from our table was amazing. We even made an extra stop at a cultural center to see an educational show and learn some of the history of aboriginals. Featherdale Wildlife Park was a really nice stop. Seeing all of the different animals and having some time with a koala bear was nice too. The enclosures were not overly enclosed, so the animals were very visible and some were completely free roaming. The stop for morning tea at the Botanical Gardens was at a beautiful locations and the walking paths through the different plants were beautiful.

Paul tour guide was great. Ferndale WIldlife Park was excellent - close to animals - hand fed kangaroos - posed for picture with koala. Tour was not exactly as described, but differences were fine. Blue Mountain stops were good, most picturesque spots.
