Please meet your tour guide at the Welcome Centre Located on the Lower Ground Level of the Sydney Opera House - Please arrive approx 10 min prior to your scheduled departure time. The Sydney Opera House is located within a short 10 min walk from the Circular Quay port.

What To Expect

The Sydney Opera House consists of a number of theaters that host more than 1,500 performances per year and attract millions of visitors. Widely considered one of the world’s premier performing arts venues, the Sydney Opera House is also an architectural masterpiece and UNESCO World Heritage site.

As you stroll at a leisurely pace around the famous opera house complex, your guide shares the controversies that erupted during the construction process, which began in 1958. The venue opened formally in 1973, with Queen Elizabeth II in attendance.

Hear fascinating stories you explore one of the concert halls and access parts of the complex that are not regularly open to the public. If you’re lucky, you might even catch a rehearsal in progress or get the chance to walk onstage.

Tour & Dine Option: Booking Time refers to tour time, please check in at the Welcome Centre 10 minutes prior to your tour. You will receive a ticket to redeem your main meal and beverage at your pre-selected dining venue: either Opera Bar or House Canteen
Tour & Dine Option: Main meal + beverage can be redeemed anytime between 11.30am - 6pm at Opera Bar or House Canteen on the day of your tour.
Tour & Dine Option: Children ages 5-15 years will have a childrens menu to select from
Backstage Tour Option: includes 300 stairs, moderate level of fitness required
Backstage Tour Option: includes light breakfast with your guide at harbourside dining venue House Canteen
Infants under 5 are permitted on the 1 hour tour free of charge, however still require a ticket to be booked
Venue access is subject to availability at the time of your tour and can change up until tour departure time.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.

Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

We were not able to see the main theater at the Sydney Opera House because of a private event. If we planned this tour in the future, we would check the Opera House’s schedule of events before confirming our tour date and time. The tour guide was good but we had a limited tour of the venue.

Interesting behind the scene tour of the Sydney Opera House. Fun to be able to get up close to the roof tiles and learn about the history of the building. Not good for people who can’t climb a total of 300 steps!

It was an excellent tour and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very interesting an impressive indeed. The only misunderstanding I had was that the lunch we purchased as part of the package deal wasn't at the restaurant inside the Opera House itself, but we had an option between 2 other restaurants outside the Opera House. If I had known that beforehand, I wouldn't have purchased the tour tickets with the lunches included.
