Perfect to learn Ramen and gyoza's recipes from a pro !

We were a very small group that day: just six people and we were able to participate in all aspects of the cooking. Ramen and gyoza no longer hold any secrets for us ! As French we had some difficulty at first fully understanding the instructions but we got better with time !

We had an amazing experience! We learned how to make two types of broth, ramen noodles, gyoza and the art of assembling! It was a packed 3 hours and our hard work was DELICIOUS! As a restaurant owner, I highly recommend this class!

HOST IS TERRIBLE - DRUNK AND NOT CHECKING ON THE TOUR PACKAGES!

As early as March 29, I have already booked and paid for this tour package. It was booked for April 8, 2024. Upon arriving at the site, we (family of 6 adults and 1 toddler) was informed that the schedule was full for that day. I showed our Viator tickets, and the guy was shocked to see that we indeed have a booking! Another group was already inside and has taken our schedule. The guy was drunk obviously (we can smell it) and his hands were shaking when checking his app. He said "how could I have missed this"; and since we cannot really fit in to the schedule, he gave us JYen 20k for the transportation! we came all the way from Shinjuku and his place was in Meguro. It took us 2 taxis and more than half an hour drive, only to be rejected bec he did not check the app! Honestly the 20k yen is not enough, considering we have to look for a restaurant in a city that we are not even familiar with! SUCH A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!

Hi Jaja, I can completely empthasise with this review, it was completely my fault that I had missed your group booking as I hadn't put it into my own calendar so entirely my own fault. Totally understand that 20,000 yen wasn't enough although it was just a gesture of good will / the only thing I could offer at the time to apologise for my mishap and to pay for the taxi's you've mentioned. I do think it's unfair to claim I was drunk which is completely untrue. I have staff with me every day and I would never drink on the job or do anything so unprofessional. My hands were shaking as I was dealing with something that was clearly a huge mistake that I had made, whilst checking my phone and stating myself trying to deal with the situation whilst under stress and saying it was due to myself drinking, is quite shocking thing to claim regardless of the bad experience you had with us.

What a great experience!! We had just spent 12 days in Japan eating ramen and soba and it was fun to learn how to make the noodles, broth and gyoza. Andrew was a wonderful teacher and made all the recipes feel very do-able at home. Can’t wait to get the recipes and try them out on our own. Perfect ending to our trip!! Highly recommend!!!

Best Destination Cooking Class I have Taken

This was easily the best of the experiences I booked in Tokyo. Unlike other destination-based cooking classes I have taken, this class was hands-on from the beginning and all the way through. Along the way we got our hands dirty (figuratively and literally) and were kept busy the entire time. The final product was amazing. This was an experience I would not hesitate to recommend - or to repeat!

A must do while in Tokyo

This cooking class was a blast. It was also educational in learning a little about the history and two main types of ramen that is typically served. The instructor, Andy, made the class fun and interactive. Everyone was given multiple jobs to get a hands on experience in making ramen. If you’re visiting Tokyo this is a must do cooking class. And of course best part at the end when everyone gets to sit down and eat the ramen and gyoza they prepared.

I really enjoyed this cooking class! The instructor Andrew was great with pre-class communications, and provided good directions to the meeting spot. The class size was small and the restaurant was a perfect venue for the class. The instructions during the class were thorough and easy to follow, and the ramen, gyoza and drinks we enjoyed at the end of class were delicious! Highly recommended!

It was a little bit stressful to get a date, since Viator didn't reflect the status of booked sessions. Needed to readjust the day of our cooking class. But everything else was a nice experience! Never thought cooking ramen would involve so much knowledge, effort and time.

Definitely the best cooking class I have taken ever! Andrew was an amazing sensei, spoke perfect English due to his Japanese-English background which made it easy to understand every single word and focus on the cooking and learning. A really nice class where you will learn to prepare every single aspect of a delicious Ramen and try it at the end of the class, a wonderful recipe book to take home afterwards, and finally a great conversation with a small group of people. Andrew is really passionate about what he does and about making sure you learn, I 1000% recommend this tour!
