Next, you'll head to Asakusa Kannon Temple (Senso-ji), which dates to AD 645, and is known as the city’s most famous Buddhist religious site. Listen as your guide details the temple's fascinating history and then admire its idyllic gardens, intricate architecture and sturdy gates.

An incredible afternoon out.
Jeremy_P, Apr 2024
Makoto was an incredible guide and so far this is the highlight of our trip. We learnt new information about Tokyo as well as tips on the language. I would highly recommend this tour.
Very touristy!

The old Tokyo tower was great to view Tokyo - the river cruise was pleasant but not sure it added a whole lot to experiencing Tokyo. While Asakusa was an older part of Tokyo, it was very busy and touristy. Not a bad experience but not my favourite tour.
Great!

I thought it was great! It’s a good way to see multiple things. I wish my cousin and I did this first day of our trip instead of fourth day. We ended up already seeing most of the things on this tour because of that.
Excellent HIgh Level Tokyo

With only one afternoon to see the 'Best of Tokyo' this Viator tour was excellent. The highlights were Asakuasa and the Sumida River Cruise. Seeing only the outskirts of the Imperial Palace and the partially blocked view from the World Trade Center tower were OK. Our guide was very informative, but difficult to understand. He coordinated the tour beautifully. We highly recommend this tour for those with a short time in Tokyo!
Better to do on your own
Darrell_H, Apr 2019
As it is easy to navigate your own way around Tokyo you can do all this on your own relatively easily much cheaper. Also we felt really rushed through the visits so doing it on your own means you could do it all at your own pace.
Half day tokyo tour

Very good tour. Tour guide spoke very good English and the tour covered a lot for just a half day tour.
Great guide

Our guide Tomoko was the best! We learnt a lot about Tokyo in our very short time with her.We really appreciated her help to get back to our hotel too.
Just ok
Andra_H, Oct 2018
We spent a lot of time in traffic and the boat ride was just that...a ride in a boat. It was covered and it was raining, so hard to see much. The tour was a lot of money to pay for just 3 sites. The tour guide could have given a lot more historical information during the drive.
Good overview

If you just have an afternoon this is a great way to get an overview of the city of Tokyo. You can be picked up at many locations even your hotel. The guide is knowledgeable and speaks English very well.

Tour was rushed. Enjoyed the sights and river cruise but would have liked more descriptions and details of what we were seeing.
Quick, easy way to see the sights of Tokyo!

Quick, easy way to see the sights of Tokyo! Our favorite part was probably seeing the city from the top of the World Trade Center.
Too rushed and did not learn anything on the cruise
Judith_A, Jul 2018
We were taken by taxi from our hotel pick-up point to the first stop which was the World Trade Centre. Our guide was knowledgeable and personable and even taught us some Japanese on the way to Marounouchi Station at the end of the tour. However, due to traffic, we spent a great deal of time on the bus and never had enough time to visit the sights. We thought we would go inside the Imperial Palace to see the inner gardens, but all we did was walk around the moat. The Asakusa stop did not leave enough time to explore the shops if we also wanted to learn about the five-storied pagoda and visit the Kannon Temple. The most disappointing was the Sumida River Cruise. The narrator seemed to announce the bridges we were passing under, but the speaker system was awful and we couldn't hear anything. We had also expected to learn about the buildings and walks along the river. We were very disappointed with the cruise.

Tour guide was very good and helpful but tour was a little disappointing. Online advertising led me to believe we were going to visit the grounds of the emperors palace but that didnt occur. Further wasted considerable time getting from meeting point to actual starting point of tour.

It was a very good tour, with an overview of Tokyo from the World Trade Centre Building. Time was limited for shopping though in Asakusa, so we went there again some time after the tour.

I didn't find this trip very informative. The guide was talking more about himself than about Tokyo.
Enjoyable afternoon for the price...
kathleen_H, Mar 2018
Enjoyable afternoon for the price. Charming guide who had to contend with tourists who got themselves lost five minutes after the tour began. Time to wander then a pleasant evening river cruise.
the tour was excellent covering all...
lee w, Jan 2018
the tour was excellent covering all major sports in Tokyo the shopping at the temple was a great spot for local products and the cruise finished it off well. our guide was very good with loads of knowledge about the world trade centre and the imperial palace. the only criticism is the instruction on where to meet at the train station, these were very vague and make sure you allow plenty of time to contact the company to find the meeting place, easy once you have clear instructions but probably something that needs to be updated. we would defiantly recommend this tour and will do it again when next in Tokyo
