I would rate this trip a 4.5 but do not want to take away from the actual rating of the activity. I would say overall 4.5 just because it was a very windy day and there was so much waves making it difficult for us to snorkel comfortably. The actual snorkeling was a 5! So cool how close we got to the reefs and we were able to see a turtle 3 times in 2 different spots. It was amazinggg! there were only 6 of us on this tour and it felt very safe despite the waves. The guides are very good swimmers and really know their way around. I give it a 5 star because the snorkeling tour guides were both very helpful. They helped me out a lot so that I can see all the reefs and fish since I was having some trouble on my own due to the rough waves. I was glad I was able to see everything. At our second stop there were other boats nearby since this was where the turtles are. It was very crowded in the water because everyone wanted to see the turtles, but our guide helped me get really close to the turtle, we even followed it around and were right next to it when it came out for air. It was such an amazing experience. The captain also recorded the turtles and stingrays on my phone, which was so cool on his part. I definitely would recommend this tour!

The guides were great! They worked hard to give us the best experience and clearly cared about showing us as much marine life as they could. We saw turtles, stingrays, lobsters, large schools of fish and many colorful fish in the coral. As soon as our guide saw something exciting, he would would wave at us or grab our shoulder to direct us to the turtles.
The day before we did a combination tour that included snorkeling and the experience in the water wasn’t nearly as good. My advise is to do a tour that is just snorkeling if you want a more genuine experience that isn’t rushed. Two hours was the perfect amount of time. We would definitely use this company again.

A small group of five in the boat, and the guide made sure we got a chance to see everything he found. Turtles, stingrays. He even took my phone and went down underneath a coral rock and videotaped a lobster.

Tulum snorkel tours was a difficult company to work with. We scheduled it online received a confirmation and then we couldn’t find out where the pick up point was. So I called and a gross mail told me they would send me the details later. So I waited And about 9 o’clock at night I called again and the voicemail message was in Spanish which was not helpful. So the following morning I got a message about the meet up. It was all very difficult because you like to have plans made and I’m not want to wait for information , they must meet there all the time and it would be harmless to put that information on the website.
That being said, the crew on the boat was fabulous. They were very helpful and they just did a great job. The first reef was very unimpressive. I saw a few fish and a few rays, but there was no reef. Then we dropped three people off on the beach because they only paid for a one hour tour and we paid two hours two different sites. So we went onto the second site and they do on a living reef With school of fish and bright colored tropical fish it was lovely so there were some good things and some bad things about this but I think the communications issue needs to be resolved. It’s not fun to do planning for a winter holiday only to find that you can’t get good communication on the other end in closing, I think the tour on the boat diving the reefs was great and I think the people that answer the phone and are responsible for what’s happening are not great. I would wager that most people that come and take that tour either speak English or another foreign language besides Spanish . It would not hurt to put the English translation on the voice message.

This is an experience you don’t want to miss when you’re in Tulúm! This is a family run business and everyone we interacted with was so knowledgeable and kind. We were able to see turtles, stingrays, a bunch of fish, and a few ruins that were only visible from the sea. Great experience for couples, individuals, and families! We will be back!

Check the weather and consult with the agent if the water will be calm enough for a clear under water view. Otherwise it will turn out to be a waste of time and money. The agents will not inform you from their side so you'll need to be proactive. It was my first snorkeling experience and my friend had done it before. She advised not to treat this experience as a yardstick to how snorkeling really feels like! The water was super choppy but our agent still took us offshore. We realized how risky it was only when we were in the middle of the sea. Our friendly boatman also admitted this wasn't the best weather condition to snorkel but that he had to make an earning! So we had to ultimately make a choice between giving it a shot or wasting the money.

The most memorable part was our guide waving us to follow him swimming and he found 2 sea turtles for us who were swimming and eating and surfaced for a bit. So cool!

This is as touristy as it gets. You pack on a boat, get a picture in front of the Tulum Ruins (best part) and then they drop you off on nearly dead reefs to see a few fish and sting ray. The tour is not worth the time.
