Overview

The Salar de Uyuni is the world's largest salt flat and one of Bolivia’s most visited sites. Highly recommend this company

At first it started out a little slow.. the train cemetery and first stops felt way too touristy with everyone trying to have us buy things. The trip only went uphill from here. The salt flats were incredible. Lunch was tasty. The sunset was absolutely stunning. The next morning I opted for the sunrise tour. We got to go star gazing and jt was the most magical thing I’ve ever seen. Later that day we went to the volcano but since I had a bad knee the driver drove us up most of the way up a road he’d never driven before and clearly other people hadn’t in a while. He was very accommodating and willing to help me out. They put my friend and I up in a gorgeous hotel that had a fantastic dinner and breakfast.

The whole tour was great, we where picked up from the airport, and straight to the tour office which gives us the briefing plus time to get ready to start the D1 tour. Everyone at Andes Salt Expeditions was helpful, then off to our D1. Everything was amazing and the highlight was the Salar de Uyuni, our guide was amazing in explaining everything. It was such an experience. After the sunset we where taken to our hotel, which I actually lowered my expectations but it was amazing Hotel Kachi de Uyuni. Then we had a bonus of stargazing & sunrise, whis was awesome, we got lots of great pics and just watching the skies full of stars and the sunrise. Kudos to our guides/photographer. Then off to our second day which was great as the first Bolivia is amazing, we enjoyed it. We had a little flat tire accident in the middle of going back, but our guide is great and know exactly what to do. All in all I reccomend this tour 100%. Amazing time at Uyuni with these guys! Knowledge guides, great itinerary, tasty food and a super cool group photo-shooting organized by guides! We finished 2nd day with a glass of wine enjoying sunset at Uyuni, which was fantastic. Lifetime memories, highly recommended!

Terrible tour company

Bad communication. They didn’t reach out to me until prior evening of the tour, and change the itinerary completely just because they didn’t have enough people signed up. If I didn’t complain, they would skip evening and sunrise salt flat plan. The driver didn’t know I signed up the 2 days/1 night plan including salt hotel until I complained about it. The guide was good, just tour company was horrible.

Wow! The day on the salt flats exceeded expectations! Lots of great photography, as well as meeting new friends. Axel was a great guide! The second day of the tour highlighted some local geological formations, as well as local animals and plants. The organization was excellent! The salt hotel was great. Thanks for a wonderful tour!

Amazing tour - well worth it!

This was an awesome experience on both days! Guides were super friendly and knowledgeable, communication was efficient, groups were small, and details reflected the tour accurately. Definitely something I will recommend to friends and would gladly do this tour or a similar one again because it was such a fun experience! If you can manage 2 days over 1 on your trip, it is worth it and the overnight at the salt hotel was very nice.

Great travel itinerary. I booked a two-day tour. The guide was very diligent, and the schedule was packed. The only disappointment was the hotel where i stayed overnight; after midnight, there was no hot or cold water, and even the toilet didn't flush. Additionally, the room has no cup and air conditioning. The food provided by the hotel was delicious, but I don't recommend staying at the hotel arranged by this travel program.

The staff were great, knowledgeable, good drivers, excellent photographers (!) and lots of fun. I had José and Raquel, both were great. Really enjoyed my two days and was sad not to have been able to do a longer tour.

Absolutely incredible 2 day tour. From hiking Tunupa volcano to watching the sunrise and sunset over the salt flats, this was my favourite tour through my travels in South America. The tour was so well organised from start to finish, including meals and accomodation. Special shout out to Alejandro and Raquel who are the best tour guides I’ve ever had. They were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate and really made the tour what it was. Would highly recommend

Tour was excellent. Last minute changes to the itinerary but saw the best of the Salt Flats. Our guide/driver Jose was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable of the Salt Flats and took all the time we needed to visit, take pictures and answer our questions. Highly recommended.

Amazing trip

My partner and I had an amazing 2 days in the salt flats. The tour was well organised from start to finish and we amazing views of the salt flats including sunset and star gazing. A special shout out to our guide Israel who did an outstanding job in every respect, knowledge and a great photographer! Would recommend this agency and trip to everyobody.

The 2 days on the salt flats were just incredible - the 'wow' factor is indescribable as you see the salt flats for the first time and then the 'mirror effect' of the water on the salt. The trip to the train cemetery was worth a visit as was the trip to the volcano - fit a lot into the two days and Israel as our tour guide was absolutely brilliant! Would highly recommend this experience...

Best tour in town

I got my schedule changed but I still give this a 5 stars review. I totally understand it’s normal to switch the schedule as long as we all have full filled the plan. I actually can’t join due to my work. The owner came to the hotel and apologized and gave me refund back on the portion that I couldn’t join. It’s a very ethical way of doing business. The tour is super fun too. Strongly recommended

The 2-day tour was the perfect length for us. I especially enjoyed the first day but the sunrise views on the second day were great too. Visiting the giant cacti on Fish Island was a highlight and I would have liked to spend longer there.

10/10 tour. The tour: in retro 4x4s with luggage racks so plenty of room for all bags, we’re taken to a great mix of sights. Friendly knowledgable tour guides, loads of great photo opportunities and a great tour Important point I really want to add. We had food poisoning from the start of this trip (from our hotel, NOT from this tour). The tour company looked after us so well for the entire trip and eventually organised a separate driver to take us home when we couldn’t finish the tour. You are i’m extremelt safe hands booking this tour and I can’t recommend it enough.
