What To Expect

Nature and history abound at the 27-acre Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, just minutes from the bustle of downtown Vancouver. Set within the unique environment of British Columbia’s cedar-scented rainforest, the Capilano Suspension Bridge and brand new Cliffwalk allow you to delve into nature’s beauty while kicking up the adrenaline.

Originally built in 1889, the 450 foot long Capilano Suspension Bridge soars 230 feet above the Capilano River and is your gateway to the forest beyond. Take your time crossing this magnificent structure while enjoying the spectacular view of the canyon and river below.

But for a real thrill, the awe-inspiring Cliffwalk is not to be missed. This amazing walkway juts out from the granite cliff of Capilano Canyon and takes guests to areas of the park that were previously unexplored. High and narrow, Cliffwalk is not for the feint of heart. A series of cantilevered, suspended walkways hug the face of the cliff.

Beyond these main activities, there are plenty of ways to explore the rich history and unique ecosystem of the park. Interactive displays and informative panels offer insight into the forest’s ecology with fun facts and identification clues.

Enjoyable Day at Capilano
Mary_U, May 2024
My daughter and I enjoyed this excursion which exceeded our expectations. The free shuttle bus service was a nice short wait. The self guided tour was perfect and walking on the suspension bridge and thru the cliff walk was spectacular. The experience with walking thru nature on this excursion was pretty amazing. Also, we enjoyed shopping in the giftshop.

The suspension bridge was amazing. As was the cliff walk. Definitely worth the visit with a lot of board walks though the forest.
Excellent!!

Sis and I loved the Capilano Bridge
Ashton_P, Apr 2024
My sister and I were a little scared to walk the bridge at first, but thankfully the bridge was wider than we thought and didn’t move too much. However, the cliff walk was terrifyingly amazing! If you’re borderline afraid of heights… don’t recommend this one. Overall, such a great experience and hope to come back again soon with the rest of the family.
Raincouver
Amy_H, Apr 2024
Our visit to “Raincouver” in April was as expected… RAIN. I had done a quick search “what to do in Vancouver during the rain” and this was one of them. I was a bit skeptical but the fact that the websites said it was *uncrowded* during the rain made it appealing. The *free* shuttle buses from 3 convenient downtown locations made the transportation seamless. Although it was chilly and misty like a true rainforest, there was an interactive scavenger hunt worksheet that engaged the kids (and adults)! Loved the speakers with the falcons! Needless to say, the views of the gorge underneath the suspension bridge was gorgeous. Highly recommended!
Do not miss!

The park is small, the price is a little high, but it is worth it. We are around 70 years old, but we really enjoy the bridge and cliff walk. The only downside was we have been waiting at bus pick up location for 40 minutes, the shuttle bus didn't come, so we had to take taxi to the park. But return shuttle was on time and drop us at downtown.
Amazing lighting show!

We were sad that the tree tops were closed. I wish we would have known or there would have been a discount.
Awesome!
Pooja_S, Feb 2024
Went in the evening after dark. Totally worth it! Lights were fantastic and crossing the bridge was so fun!

Very nice experience and perfect time to be is around 4pm to enjoy little sunlight and canyon light. Get tickets before as the place is usually busy
Wonderful. Elemental.
Raul_T, Dec 2023
This is our second time visiting the park, but the first Christmas-time visit. It was absolutely wonderful. I believe it would be wonderful if they had a similar experience during the summer as well. All the same, it's so good to walk slowly and take it all in and breathe the clean air.
Beautiful experience
