A Guided Tour of Verona We Thoroughly Enjoyed Every Minute

The day started right on time with our host meeting us at the front entrance to our apartment building. We began by driving to the high point of Castel San Pietro to overview old Verona and identify its famous buildings, landmarks and the city layout and hear about its history starting from ancient times. From there we went to the Valpolicella wine region and to a world class winery for wine tasting and a light lunch. We then drove to a small village giving a high vantage point to view the southern region of Lake Garda. There we had an expresso sitting in the piazza with Lake Garda and the southern Italian Alps filling our view. Following that we drove to a couple of villages on the lake and enjoyed walking beside the lake in the afternoon sunshine feeling the fresh breeze coming off the mountain waters. Our host was passionate for his city, its past, its industry, and its surrounds and we enjoyed hearing the information and history he explained to us.

Great tour guide and a beautiful location to visit. Isabela, was able to customize the trip for us as we were not interested in spending time doing the wine tasting.

Izabella was a very good guide and knowledgeable about the region but the vehicle was cramped and the itinerary was not as advertised.

The trip included a brilliant visit to a local vineyard where we gained a real insight into wine cultivation and processing, included the opportunity to taste several excellent wines. We reluctantly left this beautiful countryside to visit several small and picturesque towns and villages as well as the magnificent ruins of a Roman villa overlooked by the mountainous backdrop to Lake Garda. Before travelling back to our Verona hotel we sat in the sun outside a small harbourside cafe enjoying iced drinks and homemade ice cream. A fitting conclusion to a most pleasant day. Big 'thank you' to Isabella our guide for hosting this very pleasant trip.

This was a great tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and took us to great towns along the lake. We also really enjoyed the wine tasting at a family winery. Can highly recommend this trip.

Betreuung durch Guide, Dauer, Anpassung der Gehdistanzen (war am Fuss leicht verletzt) war sehr gut. Highlight der Tour: Wine Tasting mit hervorragenden Weinen war top. Persönliche Betreuung durch Mitglied der Besitzerfamilie. Hat viel Verständnis für Preise für Qualitätsweine gebracht. Handarbeit im Rebberg, Reduktion der Trauben z.G. Qualität, Platzen der Beeren statt Pressung (weniger Tanine). Besuch sehr zu empfehlen.
