We particularly enjoyed the first tasting, at Stonyridge Vineyard - Gary gave us lots of interesting information about both the wine we were drinking and the history of the vineyard. And the view from Mudbrick Vineyard was amazing! We appreciated the stops at the beach for photos and to run our toes in the Pacific. Also loved Nicky’s personal style as a tour guide - so fun to see it all through a local’s eyes. Aimee and Bernie Doyle

Sunshine, beaches and delicious wines
Alessandra_B, Feb 2024
We had a wonderful time exploring the beautiful Waiheke with Vicky, who was very lovely and knowledgeable. We started the tour at the harbour, and it was nice as it was just us and one other couple. We were brought to three stunning beaches, before we visited the three wineries. We tasted delicious wine, had a lovely lunch at a place with the most stunning vista and just had a brilliant day. 10/10 would recommend.
Small tour - big experience!

Okay experience
Kathy_G, Feb 2024
This was an okay experience. The drive was very long over bumpy roads so please be aware of that. Our driver was great although he stopped several times on the way to be sick. The Cherry Tree Hill was anticlimactic and not worth the extra drive time. The lunch and Bathsheba was beautiful. Snorkeling was fun. Scheduled pick up time was before the stated pick up window and 2 hrs, 15 min before the stated excursion start time without any explanation and minimal notice (informed about 18 hours before pick up) Would have preferred more notice of these changes with an explanation. Also Viator listing stated 10 person tour max, we were a group of 10, and then they added more to our group.

Please ignore this review as this was a review from a Hawaiian based tour company not my business based on Waiheke Island
Scenic and Fun
Brian_M, Feb 2024
My daughter and I got to see some beautiful parts of the island and visited 3 fantastic wineries. Our tour guide, Nicky, and the wine stewards gave us some wine tasting lessons. It was a sunny day and the views were just fantastic.
The best way to experience Waiheke
AnthonyJoseph_Q, Feb 2024
Stop looking for the best Waiheke Wine Tasting tour and book this one now. Nicky is the best guide. She lives on Waiheke and her husband is on the wine making business. She knows the staff at the wineries she visits and her guests are immediately tended to and well taken care of. Her knowledge of the island, its history and the wine making business is encyclopedic. She is extremely flexible and just a lot of fun to be with. Look no further!!

A fun day out experiencing wineries
Merin_D, Jan 2024
Nicky was a wonderful guide and really made the time so enjoyable! From the moment she picked us up at the ferry station, she was full of knowledge, a safe driver, the vehicle was clean and comfortable, and it was so nice that we had such a small group. We were a family of four adults and there was one other couple that joined the tour. We got to see some beautiful beaches and experienced three amazing wineries. The lunch was on our own and the table was ready for us when we arrived. We saw lots of other people doing hop on hop off bus, but we were so glad that we decided to do the private tour. It made the day so easy and comfortable and we feel like we got a lot more in then we would have if we had tried to do it ourselves.
Choose this tour!!

Stop looking at other wine tours and book this one RIGHT NOW! Nicky is THE BEST tour guide of the island and knows the best wineries to take you to. She stopped us at all the scenic spots to take photos and was on top of every detail. She made our day on Waihiki so special and feel so lucky to have been on her tour. If you have a group of 5 or less, this is trip for you!!
Nice personalized service.

We enjoyed the trip. At times it felt a little rushed, but saw some gorgeous areas. Overall we had a good experience.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
So sorry that you felt rushed but Waiheke on a Saturday is the most busiest day to visit and all my wineries have been prebooked for you and we cannot be late If any future bookings would like a a more time please book a private tour and I can accommodate your needs Cheers Nicky Best small tour owner and operator on Waiheke Island
Wonderful experience!!!
Inae_P, Nov 2023
It took about 4:30-5hours. The wineris tour with Nicky was our best choice for our honeymoon. She is so kind and help us to have expirence as much as we can. She introduced to us not only wineries but also wonderful points for the picture. I highly recommend this program!!
Response from Host, Nov 2023

Relaxing & Relatable Wine Tour
Tim_A, Mar 2023
The guide was very good about explaining the history of the island and the background of the winemakers. We took a couple of stops for pictures at the beach and mountainside. The wine tastings were perfect and the weather was beautiful.

View years ago we did a wine tour with Fullers. We were a small group of people. With the wine tasting they offered some finger food, cheese, bread etc. This time we just could try the wine, a short description, that‘s it. We were disappointed.
Response from Host, Mar 2023
Sorry about your experience but I do visit the wineries that most of the other tours companies visit they don’t offer what you received previously unless it was booked for that experience You don’t mention anything about WaiTiki tours as a whole just the wineries which is out of my control Cheers Nicky
Waste of money!! Extremely poor value for money!
Judith_L, Feb 2023
Six people squeezed into a van that really should have only taken 5 adults. Dreadful! Van needed a new tyre and at the start of the tour it was like driving in Noddy's car! Dreadful! We were under the impression we would do some walking around the island instead dumped at three wineries and a short drive around the island! Absolute waste of money and 6 hours of my life! Take the hop on hop off bus and save yourself a bundle!!! Nice tour operator but that's the only thing I could say!
Response from Host, Feb 2023
I am very sorry that you didn’t enjoy your day! As the sole owner and operator of WaiTiki tours I have never had to respond to a bad review before I did have a problem with one of my tyres which required a few phone calls during the first wine stop I then did have to leave you at the second stop in order to get the tyre fully replaced (not an easy task on an island of this size big shout out to James from tyres on Tui who dropped everything to get it sorted and have me back on the road in time to pick you up after lunch) I did escort you over to a lovely walk down to the cascades When you book a wine tour and you don’t drink wine it can be problematic to change the tour at the last minute Cheers Nicky
Lovely day!
Debbie_M, Jan 2023
Nikki, (hope I spelled your name correctly), was excellent. She was personable, accommodating and gave us a beautiful tour of the island and wineries. It was all quite breathtaking! We truly enjoyed our day.
Good way to explore Waiheke
Andrew_W, Jan 2023
3 wineries with tastings. Beautiful locations and a good day. Lunch at one of the wineries (at our own expense) was also very good.
A unique wine tasting experience from a small family owned operator.
William_R, Jan 2023
Our first visit to Waiheke Island and once we got to the island it was fantastic. One strong word of caution that is not reflective of this tour but the ferry service to get to the tour. In high season the ferry service is chaotic so get your tickets before you go to get in line. Second get to the line at least an hour ahead of time but I would suggest 75-90 minutes. Based on the ticket agent suggesting we get in line 40 minutes ahead of time we got there 55 minutes early and we missed our 10am ferry. The line was LONG and it is not reserved times. It’s first come first serve. Fortunately the ferry service added a ferry and we left around 1030 otherwise we would have been on the 11 and they even cautioned we might be on the 12. With that said the tour operator was fantastic. They are a small family owned operation and are good at what they do. We called and they adjusted the pickup twice to fit the situation. This made a frustrating situation bearable and ensured we got the full tour in without feeling rushed. Thanks much for being so flexible. They picked three fabulous wineries but Stony Ridge and Thomas were really outstanding. Bought a lot of wine. Also had lunch at Thomas. The island is beautiful and we might consider staying on the island next time for a different experience. Ferry ride home had no drama. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a nice day tasting good wine in a relaxed environment.

Thanks so much for the review Hopefully fullers ferry service gets better Cheers Nicky
Wonderful way to see Waiheke!
Maura_L, Dec 2022
We had a wonderful time on our tour! It was so well done and thoughtful with amazing stops to see beautiful wineries and knowledgable soms! The views were absolutely breathtaking - especially our Lunch at Batch wineries! Highly recommend this small, intimate and fun tour!

Thanks Maura
A must do on Waiheke
Bradley_P, Dec 2022
This is definitely a must do for people staying in Auckland and want to see the island of Waiheke in a day! Our tour guide was very lovely and full of information from start to finish, Nicki had lots of recommendations for things to do and see and was a joy to talk to during the tour. We were taken to three distinct wineries that all had something to offer for a wine lover. We only had so much time in Auckland so it was nice to be able to see everything Waiheke had to offer in a day, would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit the island!
