Each weekend, Wellingtonians make the trek over the Remutakas to escape to this European-style wine village. This small group tour is a convenient way to visit Martinborough. There’s no need to stress about driving on country backroads, and no need to plan the day’s itinerary - leaving you to focus on the wine and the iconic scenery.

A great experience

People always make or break an experience, in this case Simon made this tour a great experience and created a friendly open atmosphere. The Moy Hall is great for you to take pictures to remember the trip, and the crew at Muirlea Rise were funny and it was interesting to hear about their history, and finally winding down for a friendly chat at Grava with the group and Simon was the cherry on top for the final stop, felt like an old group of friends just talking. Thank you all for a lovely tour.

Great wine tasting trip to Martinborough

This was a great trip to see more of the North Island landscape on the way from Wellington to Martinborough and try 3 great wineries. Each winery was in a lovely setting, and we had a wonderful gourmet lunch to complete the trip. The conversation was great with the others in our small group which made it a very enjoyable day.

A fabulous wine tasting experience

A lovely lunch at a beautiful winery overlooking the outstanding countryside was our everlasting experIence of this tour. Simon picked us up on time from our hotel and we drove over a mountain pass to the wine area. Our small group were very social and we enjoyed three different winery tasting visits which were extremely interesting and well presented. There was a much greater variety of wines than we expected. On the way back we called in a small cheese making shop which was popular. Overall, it was a very pleasant easy going day.

Deliciously Memorable

Just a memorable day. Simon was a wonderful tour guide with lots of local knowledge, and well known by the wineries we visited. Our fellow travellers were great company. It was a privilege to have the opportunity to taste at three of New Zealand’s more obscure wineries. The lunch at Moy Hall was delicious and substantial (take note of Shared Plates. They are generous portions). All the wineries were generous in their samples, and provided a good range of their cellars. The trip there provided spectacular views. I’m sure I’d have enjoyed them just as much on the return trip, but I needed a sleep!!

A wonderful day seeing vineyards and tasting wine

A great day seeing the countryside, tasting wines, and meeting nice people. Simon was our guide and driver, super friendly and very knowledgeable, taking us to three wineries and sampling over 12 different wines and one gin (really delicious). We stopped for lunch at one of the tasting wineries and had a delicious lunch (one of our favourite meals) at a reasonable price. The entire group of 10 were very friendly and made for a wonderful day !

Wonderful memories in Martinborough

A very good half day tour of Martinborough wineries, thank you to our Guide that day (Tuesday January 16, 2024). He drove us safely around the area and back to CBD and shared to us his remarkable knowledge about the history of the area and wine production. The wineries chosen were good as well. we had lunch with a very nice American couple that day in a beautiful vineyard. A very memorable experience we highly recommend👍

Road closure drama but we made it thanks to the kind tour guide/ owner!

We had a very dramatic day: 20 minutes after the tour van left Wellington CBD, we discovered the the mountain/ hilly road to Martinborough was closed due to a 3-car crash, and the only alternate route would take 3 hours longer 😵‍💫 Our tour guide Phil (who is also the owner of Zozo Travel) said of the 9 years he has run this tour, this is the first time that he has seen this happen (there were other pre-announced road closure, but not a road closure that happened this close to the start of a tour). Phil decided to turn around to get folks back to town, so that the cruise people won’t miss their boat. However Phil also said we could still try our luck (after those people got dropped off) to see if the road reopened. 2 other non-cruise parties decided that they would rather do the tour with Zozo Travel on a different day, but another traveler and I decided to play roulette since the wine tour the next day (Thursday) is sold out and we leave town on Friday. We lucked out and made it there with a much smaller group! Thanks so much Phil from Zozo Travel for making this happen despite only have 2 guests at that time. You and Mia are the best and I'll definitely be recommending Zozo Travel to my friends and family! 🙏
