Overview

On this charming small-group day trip, enjoy a Champagne brunch at Chandon followed by intimate cellar-door tasting sessions at a few other venues. Honestly the BEST tour ever! Craig kindly picked us up in CBD even though we were supposed be picked up at the Lilydale station. His van was spacious and cozy. He prepared enough water and chocolate to keep us hydrated and ready for the next wine tasting☺️ He is very knowledgeable not only about Yarra valley’s history but also the most recent news about the area which was very fun listening. He knew when it’s good time to share those stories for us and when it’s good time to let us enjoy scenery or sleep🤣 Everything was perfect the whole day. I would definitely recommend Craig’s winery tour!😍😍

Highly recommend this tour! We had a great day with Craig and the other guest with us. Craig knows all the best spots in town. Views were beautiful at each spot and wine + cheese was amazing!

A relaxing and cozy small group tour

Love the small group basis. Craig, our guide, is a local so he knew the place well. He gave good explanation and exercised flexibility in the programme of the day. The whole day we had good weather, good guide and felt relaxing. I liked our last itinerary, the visit to Yileena. The ambience is cosy & homely. The smoked cheese, chicken & kangaroo salamis were yummilicious. They went very well with the wines we tasted. Before we left, the owner gave us some carrots to feed the donkeys. A lovely note to end the trip : ) Would definitely recommend this tour to my friends.

What the most fabulous tour/day out. Craig and Kurt were wonderful; helpful knowledgeable and so friendly. Met other great guests on the trip. Chandon is so slick/polished, and Yering Farm is so rustic/charming - both making exceptional wines. Highly recommended. 5 …. No … 10 out of 5 !!

Me and my partner really enjoyed this tour and thought it was very good value for money. We thought Craig was great fun as well as informative about the wines and history - he really made the tour what it was. It was also nice to see people at different levels of wine knowledge on the tour and a range of ages - it’s welcoming to everyone.

We had an incredible time on this trip. Craig was AMAZING! We have toured vineyards all over the US and we learned something new about sparkling wine, but I won’t ruin the surprise, drove through the gorgeous Yarra Valley, and loved the gin stop in the middle!

If you had more than five stars ... I'd use them. Craig was an incredible guide who tailored the tour to our whims and desires. Drinking apple cider in the sun of an outdoor apple orchard bar ... incredible! Buying three kilos of chocolate - a must. Eating a melted wheel of camembert - essential! Would book again in a heartbeat

Our tour guide Craig was exceptional! From the moment he picked us up in the bus, it was a fun, educational and enjoyable time! He shared lots of interesting bits of history on the areas we visited and also threw in a little trivia! We booked this tour not knowing what to expect, but all I can say is it was worth the wait and we even made lots of new friends in our group. Thank you Craig!

Craig (the owner of The Yarra Valley Touring Co.) personally does the tour for you when you book one. He is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and sure knows his way around with the area & people there. He picked us up from the pick up point and we joined a group of 8 (4 couples). He took us to 4 different wineries, helped us sort out lunch (with an incredible view nonetheless). Since you go with a tour operator and are in a group - most wineries make sure to give you a personalised walkthrough of the wine tastings, explain each of it in great detail which really elevates your experience. The group was fun to go hang out with as well. The only think we would have liked more would be to have more time. Also, since we went in Dec 2020 - Chandon was closed for tastings which wasnt a big bummer for us but if you are fussed about it - do check before booking in. Overall, it was a great experience and we would really recommend it to anyone who wants to take a tour to Yarra valley.
