What To Expect

Start your day trip from the bus terminal in central Zurich and depart by coach for the scenic journey south. Travel among the towering peaks of Switzerland's Bernese Oberland to Lauterbrunnen, where a cogwheel train carries you up to Europe’s highest-altitude train station, situated in a UNESCO-listed Alpine wilderness.

The 100-minute train ride winds through the Kleine Scheidegg mountain pass in the Bernese Oberland. Upon arrival at Jungfraujoch, situated at an elevation of 11,333 feet, disembark at the Top of Europe and head to the Alpine Sensation—a round-tour subway opened to mark the centenary of the Jungfrau Railway.

Head to the Ice Palace for a glacier walk and stop at the Sphinx Observatory for sweeping views of Europe's longest glacier: Aletsch Glacier. From viewing platforms, enjoy a 360-degree panorama of this winter wonderland draped in a breathtaking display of ice and snow. On a clear day, look beyond to the mountain peaks of neighboring Italy and France.

If you wish, purchase a snack or warm drink at the on-site restaurant (own expense) before the cogwheel train ride to ‘Eigergletscher’, where you will change to the V-Cableway Eiger Express. After approx. 15 minutes you will reach Grindelwald Terminal, where your coach awaits. Relax on the drive back to Zurich, arriving at the bus terminal in the evening.

I was hesitant to book the tour given the price. But I did not regret. Our guide, Kid was fantastic. I’d read some reviews stating that Kid dominated the pictures and ruined it. This is simply not the case. Kid, the guide came with experience, personality and looking back, you can appreciate that this manner kept our small group unified and made the trip memorable. Kid would take your pictures for and with you. He would show you viewing outposts, dance with you and laugh with you. A 5-star tour and one hundred percent recommended.

Great tour with Mr. kid!

Mr. Kid was our tour guide and he took such good care of our group. It was a holiday weekend so everything was very crowded but he worked so hard making sure we were all okay and that we were treated very well. I’m so glad I picked the whole experience. I enjoyed everything we did. Mr Kid knows how to have a good time!

This tour delivers a great coverage of the Jungfrau region , thru the beautiful Interlaken and the enchanting villages of Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen . Disappointing and unpleasant experience

This tour was quite confusing with very little time to stop, view and enjoy the scenery. The guidance wasn't very helpful and the tour guide's communication was not clear. At first, we thought it was only us but then even fellow group members also had the same feeling. We couldn't clearly get the plan of action. He even drew things on the map but before we could really understand, he moved on to the next group. The biggest confusion was when we reached at the top. Group members were separated with no clear sign of where to go next and where to meet up. Eventually everyone did manage to find each other and had a safe return but the chaotic execution was no fun at all. Another problematic (or maybe we were expecting too much based on our previous tours in Rome and even Zurich several years ago) aspect was that he tour guide had no story telling talent and he really didn't have much to share either. Of course, we can all look up the Internet for historical elements but then why are we even with a tour guide in the first place. Overall, disappointed with the tour.

He was funny and entertaining and made sure that we weee happy. The views and the sights were spectacular. We would go again with the tour and request Kid as our guide.

Kid was an amazing tour guide. He is quirky, funny, sometimes bossy, but he works very hard and takes care of his “team.”! He never takes a break - is constantly helping people, taking pictures of all of his people and putting so much into the day and wants to make is special for everyone. I can’t say enough positive about him and most of the good pictures I got were because of him. He is a treasure to your company and puts everything into his work. Many thanks to him!

The Weather is a Huge Factor for this Tour

The most important part of this tour was canceled due to the weather conditions. While the tour.guide was very.nice, Viator or the tour operator should have a plan B and C in place so that when the weather fails, the guide doesn't have to scramble. The weather is a big factor in this tour. We were told we would get an email with a refund and I have not received anything yet. It's been 5 business days.

It is correct that we were unable to take you to the Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe because the mountain trains and cable cars were not in operation due to stormy winds. You are entitled to a partial refund. We have informed Viator, but perhaps you should also contact Viator again. We regret the circumstances and assure you that you are entitled to a refund of the difference between what you booked and what we could provide.

Tour guide and bus driver were absolutely fabulous. Scenery was beautiful. To no fault of anyone, it was too windy to go in train and cable car up the mountain. We were told we would be partially reimbursed, but I only see a credit for Viator. I want reimbursement.

Change of Plans

I had a great time in the Alps going solo, but the frustrating thing was at the beginning of the trip I was told we were going to Jungfraujoch, and then right as we were about to drop off the first group at their spot and continue onto Jungfraujoch, we were told that it was closed and we pivoted to a different look out spot. I know these things happen and glad that they pivoted and I still enjoyed my time, and got a refund for the change, but I just wish there was a disclaimer on the website or listing that said that there could be a change of plan due to weather if the cable cars are closed down. Anyways, would love to go back and actually go to the top of Jungfraujoch someday. But enjoyed my time for sure.

We booked our trip with Viator for Jungfraujoch cable car and train ride from zurich bus stop. Unfortunately due to high winds excursion was closed. Driver and tour guide was able to arrange alternative destination with similar experience. Plus when we get back to Zurich, tour company offers us partial refund as well. Over all, it's very comfortable and pleasant experience. Just a note : I would have saved some money if I would have booked excursions through Greyline directly instead of Viator. Because same excursions are little cheaper on direct websites
