What To Expect

Depart from a central Zurich location in a comfortable, climate-controlled coach and relish scenic Swiss vistas as you travel along the shores of Lake Lucerne to the city of Lucerne. On arrival, enjoy some time at leisure and see popular landmarks like the Lion Monument, Rathaus (Town Hall) and Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge).

Continue by coach to Engelberg, a mountain resort cradled by the Swiss Alps. Climb aboard a Rotair, a rotating cable car that affords panoramic Alpine vistas, and ascend to a dizzying height of 10,623 feet (3, 238 meters).

Take in 360-degree views and then disembark at Mt. Titlis’ snowy summit. Enjoy some free time to visit the magical Ice Palace and ride the Ice Flyer (not included if snow experience option selected), if the weather allows, in order to get closer to frozen crevices. Soar down a snow slide in Glacier Park and summon your courage to walk over Europe’s highest suspension bridge, the Titlis Cliff Walk.

Warm up with a steaming beverage (own expense) and then reconvene with your guide for the return journey to central Zurich.

In winter, from December to March, you can choose the Snow Experience option. Your adventure starts at Trübsee station. Slide down the hill on snow tubes and try skiing once in a lifetime on the beginner slopes – definitely a memorable experience you shouldn't miss. A Titlis Snow Park staff member will provide the equipment and supervise the activities.

Great trip. Highly recommend. Perfect day trip from Zurich to see the beautiful Swiss Alps. The itinerary is a lot of driving but broken up nicely and you get a lot in a day. Honestly the drive is beautiful anyway. It’s well coordinated and the guides are friendly. Just be on time!

Convenient for sightseeing

This was less of a guided tour and more of a 'we will drive you to locations and provide some commentary on the way, but otherwise you're on your own' kind of experience. It was worth it to me for the convenience of having your travel and your admission to the mountain covered, but realistically (if you had access to a car) you might be able to DIY this less expensively. Our guides were well informed and interesting to listen to for the bus ride, but you didn't see them once you arrived at the location. If that works for you for the price, then this is a great option.

The storm that came in and cut our excursion short by two hours! Weather is unpredictable but surely they have radar and could've made some other arrangements rather than taking us all the way up and then closing everything down within a matter of five minutes.

Dear Carla, Thank you very much for taking the time to write this review regarding your recent experience on our Mt Titlis tour. The weather in the mountains is indeed extremely unpredictable. However, even if conditions are less than ideal but the cable cars are running, we'll proceed with our tours as scheduled. We appreciate your understanding that such circumstances are beyond our control. On some occasions, when the weather poses risks already since the morning, they contact us immediately so that we can arrange an alternative program. On the day of your tour, although it began with rain and the cable cars were operational, winds started to increase unexpectedly. This happened 1 ¼ hours after our group arrived to the top. To ensure everyone’s safety, Mt Titlis staff made the decision to close the summit at 15:00 and sent everyone to the lower station, Trübsee. There, guests had the opportunity to make the most of their time by enjoying snowtubing free of charge, taking a leisurely stroll around the lake, and enjoying a meal at one of the available restaurants. We would like to highlight that by no means the tour had been shortened by two hours. According to the guides from that day, the bus departed at 16:50 from Engelberg when all guests boarded the bus, which was 10 minutes before the official departure. We can totally understand your disappointment and thus we would like to offer you a partial refund of 20% per person through Viator. It was an amazing adventure! Weather was perfect, so we could appreciate all the esplendor of de snowy mountains, the Village og Engelberg, the River, the tipos he hours, everything was like a card! The only thing was the bridge on the tpo was closed due to maintenance shores, but the driver and the guide falso were very kind and very helpfull, so all contribute to have a really wonderfull Day!
