The Rione Monti neighborhood in Alberobello’s historic center contains more than 1,000 trulli, and the Trullo Sovrano towers above its neighbors with a roof more than 45 feet (14 meters) tall. Kids especially enjoy experiencing what it was like to live inside the humble, fairy-tale-ready cottage.

Alberobello day trips and tours often include stops in nearby Locorotondo, Polignano a Mare, Conversano, or the Castel del Monte fortress.

Alberobello is one of the most famous destinations in Puglia, and gets overrun with bus tours at midday. Stop by in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the worst of the crowds.
