This tour takes you to Besakih Temple at the foot of Mouth Agung, through rice field terrace and on to Bali's scenic East Coast. First stop is Kerta Gosa, the hall of justice, in Klungkung, which dates from the 18th century. You trip continues up into the mountains, stopping to admire the view from Bukit Jambul over rice terraces with the sea glistening in the distance. Then its into Besakih Temple, almost 1.000 m above sea level. Besakih is the "Mother Temple" of Bali and probably originated as a prehistoric sanctuary where offerings were made to the God of Mount Agung. Good experience overall
Is a good trip, our driver Gede was super nice and willing to show us more about Bali. He was always happy and ready to share any comment on the way. I don’t rate this with 5 starts because Besakih temple isn't good. They force you to take a guide to be with you on the way and our guide was simply bad. We barely understood him, the visit was quite fast, and he was kinda awkward. There’s way too much hype about this temple, and it does not meet expectations at all.

Don't miss this great adventure into the heart of Bali
This full day adventure gave us a great look at the different aspects of Bali. The waterfall was exceptional, but be prepared for quite a few steep steps down and then a walk through the brook before getting to the fall itself. We got some wonderful pictures but did get soaked to the skin. Since the day was hot it actually felt pretty good. The big temple complex was interesting and we had a delightful lunch overlooking the rice paddies. Our guide was great and knew some inside tips about getting some great pictures. Since we left from Seminyak it was a lot of driving and we were glad to leave that to the guide! Sign up for this adventure, you will see more of the heart of Bali.
