Well Worth the Time
We were not certain what to expect in this museum and it surely did not disappoint. The exhibits were fascinating and the accompanying written explanations that were written in English (all were not) well done and provided much information. If you are interested in archeology this is a must see.

The museum is just off the Passeig de Gracia, on Calle de Valencia. The closest metro stops are Passeig de Gracia and Diagonal. Bus numbers 39, 45, B20, and B24 stop nearby. The museum is also close to the Gracia stop on the hop-on hop-off bus line.

When to get there

The museum is open daily, except between Jan. 1–6 and Dec. 25 and 26. Free guided tours of the museum are available on Saturdays at 11am (in Catalan) and 5pm (in Spanish). The museum also hosts frequent courses, lectures, and workshops.

The Archeology Campus

Located in the Palau-solita I Plegamans district, around 12 miles (20 kilometers) from Barcelona, the Archeology Campus of the museum offers students the opportunity to learn about Egypt and archeology. Three life-size replicas of actual archeological sites (pre-dynastic necropolis, New Kingdom tomb, and Sennedyem tomb) allow students to learn how to be an archeologist with real-life practical skills.
