There are more than 20 themed exhibits to explore at SEA LIFE Charlotte-Concord Aquarium. Visitors can see diverse marine life including jellyfish, rays, sea turtles, octopus, and many different species of fish and sharks. A visitor favorite is the 180-degree underwater tunnel with different creatures swimming overhead.
Younger visitors will enjoy the interactive touchpool with sea urchins, sea anemones, and horseshoe crabs. The aquarium also hosts feedings and educational programs throughout the day. Visitors can also go on a behind-the-scenes tour to learn more about how the aquarium operates and the different animals that live here.
The aquarium is located inside Concord Mills. Take Interstate I-85 to Exit 49 (Concord Mills Blvd). Park on the backside of the mall and use Entrance 7.
The aquarium is open daily, with extended hours on Saturdays, and limited hours on Sundays. It can be busy on weekends—visit during the week for smaller crowds. Evenings are generally the quietest time to visit, but remember that the aquarium stays open for one hour past last admission at closing time. On Tuesdays, the purchase of an adult ticket grants free entry for one child.
Visitors looking for entertainment don’t have to go far from Concord Mills, which is home to the aquarium. In addition to a range of shops and dining options, the mall hosts Speedpark at Concord Mills, featuring go karts, mini golf, arcade games, and more; a video arcade with billiards, bowling, and a whole range of other games; a carouse;l and a dedicated children’s play area. There’s also a 24-screen movie theater.
