It was nice

It was a nice experience. The layout makes you feel like you are walking through the wild but I wish the wallabies had more free roam room. And the kiwis are in a dark place so if you have trouble adjusting your eyes to the dark you might not get to see one during your visit. Thankfully there was a nice man who spotted one and pointed it out to me.

Definitely worth the cost!!

Scotty was a fantastic tour guide. I really enjoyed learning about Christchurch’s recovery after the earthquakes. I loved how knowledgeable he was. He has a great sense of humour and is clearly passionate about his home town. We had an awesome day, even fortunate enough to see a real life Kiwi at the wildlife reserve.

Nice retreat into nature

This is a lovely place where many of the animals roam freely - and they know a brown paper bag means food for them so you are very popular with the inhabitants! I spent about 2 hours there which allowed me time to follow the path and see everything. I enjoyed my time here and would recommend Willowbank to people of all ages and particularly those with children. I was a bit disappointed that even though I was guaranteed to see a kiwi the only one I saw was asleep in the nocturnal enclosure and I only saw it because someone pointed it out to me. Good to see the animals were well cared for.

Great feel for Christchurch

Leisure Tours is very well organized. They did a morning core tour of Christchurch, then parcelled people for different afternoon activities. The guides/drivers were locals and very knowledgeable. You got a real feel for what Christchurch has gone through over the last decade.
