Few day cruises stop at the island, so if you want to visit, you’ll likely have to do so as part of an overnight or 3-day cruise. Some cruises sail past the island, while others stop for time to swim and relax on the beach or climb to the top for panoramic views over Halong Bay. The sim trees that give this island its name produce an edible and sweet fruit used to make pies, jams, and a Vietnamese wine called ruou sim. You’ll find it most frequently on the island of Phu Quoc.
