The basics

The Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum celebrates the history of the Jackson Hole area with interactive exhibits for both adults and children. Kids can pick up an activity book and complete tasks to earn their own sheriff’s badge. Docent-led tours of the museum are available for an extra charge, and the society leads free walking tours of historic downtown Jackson during the summer. The museum also sponsors history talks, storytelling events, and brewery socials.

Free historic walking tours

Free downtown walking tours are led by volunteers of the Jackson Hole Historical Society, who are knowledgeable about the town’s history. Tours are 1 hour long and meet at the Jackson Town Square. You’ll follow your guide through the downtown area and hear stories about the town’s colorful characters, learning the history behind the town’s oldest buildings.
