Carved out of the limestone bedrock by a rushing river, this narrow and steep canyon—which reaches depths of up to 160 feet (50 meters)—is one of the most striking geological features of Jasper National Park. In summer, hikers flock here to follow trails that span the gorge, while in winter, the canyon freezes into an icy wonderland.
Our tour guide was from Australia and was amazing. She gave us so much history about the area and made the hike so much fun. We look forward to coming back with friends to do this again.
Our tour guide, Ben, was very knowledgeable about everything. He was patient and so nice to all of us. We had lots of questions and he was so willing to answer all of them. The area is just gorgeous! The mountains were hiding a bit in the clouds. I recommend this tour.
Fantastic day out, enhanced immensely by Ross our guide
Ross was the star of the show. Very knowledgeable and entertaining and such a nice bloke. His stories were really entertaining as was his desire to get us the best experiences.
Maligne Lake was stunning although we really wanted to do the lake AND Ross’ walk.
Sunset at Maligne sounds really good and worth considering.
Ross told us about walking the Maligne canyon in winter - now that would be an awesome experience.
Highly recommend this experience, appropriate for most fitness levels. Our guide was so knowledgeable, had a great personality and made this tour that much more educational and enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Terry treated us to a most interesting and engaging tour. Be sure to ask for her! Maligne Canyon is beautiful on so many levels. I don't usually take a lot of video, but because so many of the best moments involved loud, moving water, still pictures are insufficient. If you have time for only one canyon in the Rockies, I recommend Maligne over Johnston.
Our driver, Jake, tried very hard to help us see any available animals
Only reason for a 4 is that the weather was rainy which had some affect on the boat cruise
Lovely trip, good information on area and wildlife
Went with Brent, who was very informative of the area, wildlife and the plants they need to survive. We did see wildlife, although Moose Lake did not give us any views of Moose ha!!! Lovely trip out, beautiful scenery, i just sat back and enjoyed the whole day!
Thankyou Brent!
Not only was this a beautiful place to visit, Daniel, my guide was truly a pleasure. So personable & knowledgeable. I appreciate that the tour went as scheduled even though it ended up as a solo tour. Thank you
Excellent tour and thoroughly recommended. Our driver Jamie was very knowledgeable, stopping for us to view wildlife and giving lots of information. Visiting the falls was great but the lake tour to Spear Island was a real highlight.
Great tour, had an amazing stress free tour .. no words to describe the beauty of the wild ....
Went with 5 year old and spouse, it was just perfect time at each place so we get enough time but not too tiring.
From our pickup to drop off we loved everything about this tour. Informative and amazing staff
both on Sundog and Pursuit. Highly recommend this tour. Include cruise, it’s a must do!
