Carved out of the limestone bedrock by a rushing river, this narrow and steep canyon—which reaches depths of up to 160 feet (50 meters)—is one of the most striking geological features of Jasper National Park. In summer, hikers flock here to follow trails that span the gorge, while in winter, the canyon freezes into an icy wonderland.

Great hike!
Our tour guide was from Australia and was amazing. She gave us so much history about the area and made the hike so much fun. We look forward to coming back with friends to do this again.

Great excursion!
Our tour guide, Ben, was very knowledgeable about everything. He was patient and so nice to all of us. We had lots of questions and he was so willing to answer all of them. The area is just gorgeous! The mountains were hiding a bit in the clouds. I recommend this tour.

Fantastic day out, enhanced immensely by Ross our guide
Ross was the star of the show. Very knowledgeable and entertaining and such a nice bloke. His stories were really entertaining as was his desire to get us the best experiences. Maligne Lake was stunning although we really wanted to do the lake AND Ross’ walk. Sunset at Maligne sounds really good and worth considering. Ross told us about walking the Maligne canyon in winter - now that would be an awesome experience.
