A U.S. National Historic Landmark District, Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo was founded in the early 1900s and is one of just three Japantowns in the country. The compact neighborhood in downtown LA is home to cultural attractions, shops selling Japanese goods, and dozens of restaurants serving sushi, ramen, and other Japanese and Asian fusion cuisine.
Fabulous tour focused on LA’s architecture & history. Our guide, Chris, kept up a perfect pace (verbally & walking) & kept us engaged the entire time. Would highly recommend this tour to visitors & locals alike. Thanks, Chris, for an educational & entertaining tour!
This was a fun, informational tour of the downtown LA history I feel like you normally wouldn’t get on any other tour. A must for all your history buffs out there!
Chris, the tour guide, is full of historical information and fun facts. He was more than willing to take photos for us and answer any questions along the way.
I will say… lots of walking! So be prepared: good shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen.
Chris’s knowledge and enthusiasm brought the history and architecture of downtown LA to life. He took us to amazing places that’d be difficult to find on your own, and gave terrific advice for more exploration.
Chris was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable and passionate about the history and architecture of downtown LA. I wouldn’t have noticed so many things or been aware of different areas if I had walked around on my own. We enjoyed our experience and learned a lot! His little dog who joined us was an extra bonus.
This is the tour you should take before exploring the city on your own. You get a great sense of the downtown hot spots, history, architecture - all through great story telling by such a nice and friendly tour guide.
Chris was a wonderful guide. Great tour. Cannot recommend enough. Chris was extremely knowledgeable and flexible. This was our fifth walking tour in DTLA and certainly the best.
Chris is a phenomenal tour guide! We learned so much about the history, architecture, and culture of LA. Highly recommend this tour, whether you’re visiting for the first time or you’re a local wanting to learn more about your city. If I could give this more than five stars, I would!
Could not have been happier with choosing this tour and having Chris as our guide!
Chris was an amazing tour guide. He was knowledgable, passionate, and well-informed on many aspects of the city, not just architecture. It made for a well-rounded tour filled with interesting anecdotes about LA. We appreciated his thoughtfulness in providing water and steering us toward areas with ample shade in the hot summer sun. What made this tour extra special was being able to ride Angel's Flight at the beginning, as well as the yummy and refreshing mochi pit stop in Japan center. I had to organize this tour as an activity for a company retreat and could not have asked for a better tour guide or experience. Would highly recommend Chris and his services!
