One of northwestern France’s most important zoos, the Zoo de la Boissière du Doré is home to hundreds of rare wild animals, including lemurs, anacondas, parrots, and snow leopards. See the animals in their habitats, and watch the staff feed a variety of animals, from gorillas to rhinoceros. The zoo also holds bird shows with over 200 birds in the spring and summer, weather permitting.

The zoo offers a restaurant, but it is only open in spring and summer; there are also picnic locations on site.
Most of the zoo is wheelchair-accessible, with the exception of the South American aviary and the squirrel monkey enclosure.

The Zoo de la Boissière du Doré is located in the town of La Boissière-du-Doré, in France’s Loire-Atlantique area. To drive to the zoo from Nantes (which takes about 45 minutes), take the D115 or the N249. On-site parking is available.
The zoo is open from early February through early November, and opening days and hours vary throughout the season.
