The Benziger tasting room’s main bar offers paid wine-tasting sessions, but the winery’s enhanced tastings and tours offer more in-depth experiences. A favorite is the Biodynamic Vineyard Tram Tour, a 45-minute exploration of the vineyards with a tasting. Additionally, the 1.5-hour Tribute Estate Tour provides a behind-the-scenes look at the winery with barrel tastings and a private seated tasting in the wine cave.
So you don’t have to worry about driving after enjoying some tastings, book a wine country tour that includes transportation; most depart from San Francisco, Napa, or Sonoma. Some include tasting fees as well. Private tours are also available, if you’d like to select which wineries you visit. Alternatively, you can simply head to Benziger independently to learn about the family’s biodynamic winemaking philosophy and sample the wines.
