Frist Art Museum

919 Broadway, Nashville, Tennessee, 37203

The basics

Instead of housing permanent exhibits, the Frist hosts themed exhibits that rotate throughout the year. Traveling national and international shows featuring classical pieces by Michelangelo and Monet, plus collections of American folk art, modern photography, and even an exhibit on Italian sports car design have moved through the space over the years.

The Martin ArtQuest Gallery includes interactive stations on the upper level for kids and families to try stop-motion animation, printmaking, watercolor painting, etching, and more—some of these stations also rotate to match visiting exhibits. Join an informal docent-guided tour on select days to get better acquainted with the museum. Plus, the city’s hop-on hop-off trolley stops here.
