Jorge was a great guide....
Jorge was a great guide. Really appreciated all his knowledge. Botanical gardens were beautiful. Tequila tasting was fun but we could have had a shorter stay at the restaurant. We thought the day would be over by 3:00 or so but didn’t get back until after 5:00. Restaurant was also expensive.

Off the beaten path tour. Great time all around.
We ran late from the ship due to the difference between the ship time and local time. They went out of their way to get us picked up. Very much appreciated. First stop was in town at a jewelry store. This was not part of what we expected and was an average tourist stop. But after that, what a great drive up the costal line with a couple of stops that offered great views. After that, the drive to the gardens. This is very tropical, exactly as expected. Great time walking around and taking it in. We were there for 2 hours. Then off to the Tequilla tasting that was very very fun. This is next to a Mexican Restuarant (cost not included) that was also very good. We spent at $70 USD for meal with drink and enjoyed it. Highly recommend that tour and Mayamex tours. Back to port in plenty of time.

Botanical Gardens
The Botanical Gardens were awesome. Loved the first stop for coffee tasting and the gentlemen with the horse and sombreros for pictures was wonderful. The tour guide was knowledgeable and super friendly. Also liked the photos the photographer took. Wasn’t pushy at all to buy. The tequila tasting was also very nice. What I didn’t like was the overpriced meal at the place we stopped for lunch. I understand it was local fish and seafood but $220 US for 6 people was way overpriced. Additionally a 450 peso tip was included in the bill but the waiter left a tray and mentioned it was for cash tips. So if I hadn’t read the receipt I would have double tipped. Really felt like I was taken advantage of with the quality and cost of the meal.
