The basics

Explore the sanctuary via a series of wooden boardwalks that end in two observation platforms, from which you’ll likely see hundreds of proboscis monkeys feasting on guava and cucumber— sometimes, silverleaf monkeys and hornbills also make an appearance. Wildlife tours from Sandakan or Kota Kinabalu typically stop at Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary for feeding time. Excursions also tend to visit the nearby Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre.

Orangatans and more!
Guide Herman and driver Ben were fantastic from start to finish. Herman is so knowledgeable about the local area and we were thrilled to see orangatangs, proboscis monkeys, and sun bears along with a huge millipede and a black mamba cobra! Great experience!!
