Essential!
Miguel, our guide, was superb. He was very knowledgeable, both in breadth and depth. In short, easily one of the most impressive guides we’ve ever experienced. The sites chosen were all interesting, from the beautiful park (featuring the rare black-necked swans) to the city views from the O’Higgins memorial, and the downtown plaza, museums, cathedrals and government buildings. In our view, this was a perfect orientation to the wonderful city of Santiago.

The Secrets of Lastarria

In Lastarria, you’ll find antiques at the Plaza Mulato Gil and exhibits at the Museum of Visual Arts. On the quiet street of Rosal—often used in photo shoots because of its historic architecture—is the Hidden Bar (Bar Escondido), where tourists and locals convene for cocktails.
